Aug-26-01, 09:36 AM (EST) "Can't Extract DEM Data" I am just starting out a new fictional route and i would like to use some DEM data to create some terrain so that i don't have to hand model it. I downloaded microdem and demex. I followed the instructions included with demex. When i went to extract the terrain it didn't do it. It says that it created 0 tiles and skipped 60 tiles. I created the tiles at the right latitude and longitude so i don't really know what i am doing wrong. I would apperciate any suggestions.

Triple checked UTM's against lat longs - all correct / within box.In the XYZ file, from the top, Eastings uniformly increase from 222908.7 to 780300.0, Northings uniformly cycle, increasing from approx 6233785.3 to approx 6344714.1 then repeat in a similar cycle for the rest of the file. Have checked corners of the box - they convert to correct lat / longs.Created one Route tile in SE Australia, 148.14(06) and -33.14(36), world tile 1360 10349 file -4cbb4830. Clearly this is inside the DEM box above. Selected start tile.DEMEX skips every time.I have read the 'glimmer of hope' and related threads. Only thing I can think is the XYZ does not align to the correct row major format (John can you dispell this ?) or there is a bug. Am I missing something ?Grateful for even acknowledgement, even if no time to fix.

Aug-27-01, 06:36 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Can't Extract DEM Data" i have been tried maybe about 20 times since posted the message and it still won't work. I would like some help with this. I have read most of the messages in the forum that have DEM in them and i can find no soloution. so i really would like some help from the guys who can get this to work.
