Aug-25-01, 04:10 PM (EST) "Need some Counsel: Possible to create OWN route out of DEFAULT route?" Hi all,
I have been thinking about creating one or two self-made routes out of the default ones, just so that I'd have something for all non-U.S. add-on rolling stock to drive on.One route (as I said, these would be imaginary) would depict a rough facsimile of a Japanese Shinkansen line primarily for Train911's Railstar when it goes final. The other one would be an "anywhere in Europe" electrified route both for passenger and freight transit, set to European specs wherever possible (catenary height & voltage, maybe also utilizing the "Searchlight" signals which I have found to roughly resemble Italian-style signals). It would include both passenger routings for both commuter and long-distance medium- to high-speed traffic, as well as "lanes" and offset tracks for heavy freight hauling (e.g. with the superb Swedish Dm3).Both would include some fictitious urban/industrial scenery along the line fitting to the architectural style of the "country" (Japanese buildings on the Shinkansen run, etc.).
I have also thought of using the "Template" ) or was it "Tutorial"?) route as the basis for either one, because as I viewed it in the Route Editor, I found it to be quite interesting to look at.However, I have NO idea at all how to modify this or any other default route into a new, separate, and WORKING one. I have been tinkering around with the R Ed only in order to make static gate crossings work, and other minor things like that. Thus any advice you could give me would be GREATLY appreciated!!
