Aug-25-01, 02:50 AM (EST) "Can't Get Route to Load Up" I have been working on and off on my little route for the past two weeks, becuase i have just restarted school. Today i just wanted to give the route a little run. So i loaded up MSTS. Then i clicked on my route and explore route. I then clicked Start. And my route started to load up and then it got to about 1/3 of the bars and then froze and it wouldn't load up anymore. As it was forzen i had to restart my computer. i then went and loaded up all of the "microsoft routes" and i then tried mine again. About 1/3 of the yellow bars loaded up and then it wouldn't load any more. I left it for half an hour while i did some work and it didn't go any further. I was just wondering if anybody had encountered this problem? and if anybody has any ideas about how to fix it? I would apperciate any help.
Thanks,

Aug-25-01, 05:34 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Can't Get Route to Load Up" Have you already made an activity for your route ? If not, you can't use the explore mode at all.A simple activity , drive from A-town to B-town is enough. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-25-01, 05:43 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Can't Get Route to Load Up" Does your route already have stations that can be recognized by trainsim ? In the editor, these are called "Platform", can be found under "Stations" and are not real platforms but instead some kind of markers that you place on the track to tell trainsim where a station is. I think without these, the activity will not be recognized too. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-25-01, 06:00 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Can't Get Route to Load Up" i have been laying track for about 4 weeks now. I use to test the track everyday after i laid it. To make sure thier was no gaps in the terrain and that everything was working alright. When i created my intial activity i just placed to points on the track in the acitivy editor and made a very simple activity being that i had to drive ( i suspose you could call it that) to and from these points. I never used that activity, i always used the explore route option. As i said in my frst post i haven't been really able to work on my route for the past two weeks as my school has just restarted. So i worked on the route for about 3 hours on thursday night. And i went to give it a test run this morning. I first checked that the path in the route editor hadn't been broken and that the track was continous. I then loaded up MSTS and clicked on my route and then selected explore route and then i clicked start. It was loading up and then when the little yellow bars(the one on the bottam of the screen) got to about 1/3 of the way across, it stopped loading. The green light on the case below the power button( i don't know what its name is) was still flashing on and off as it does when things are loading. And then the light stopped, signifying that the computer had stopped "thinking" ( doing what it is told to do). So i rebooted my computer and then tried to load it up again and it wouldn't load up. The same thing happend. So i guess what i am trying to say is that it worked before when i didn't have platforms, so it should work now.
Thanks for the help

Aug-25-01, 07:29 AM (EST) 7. "RE: Can't Get Route to Load Up" Maybe try this. I had one person email me they couldn't run the route unless they turned the graphic bars all the way up. Never made sense to me but it worked for him, who knows? Try adjusting your display options to all the way to all the way down and see if that helps. Just guessing though... Aug-25-01, 07:35 AM (EST) 8. "RE: Can't Get Route to Load Up" So you were able to load the route before you made the last changes ? In this case, try to remember what you changed since the last time it worked.I know this is much work, but I think it's the only way to sort the error out. Aug-25-01, 03:27 PM (EST) 9. "RE: Can't Get Route to Load Up" Sometimes when I work on a route and then go and try to explore it, it bombs. If you go into the activity editor, does it show a broken path? While there, right click and toggle direction, which will be the opposite of what you want, then right click again and toggle direction. Now save it and go back and try. That has fixed things for me before.David Klemm

Aug-26-01, 01:01 AM (EST) 11. "RE: Can't Get Route to Load Up" I have decided to scrap the route as i have spent the past 3-4 hours trying to get it to work properlly. I have managed to get it to load up but then it freezes so, i have decided instead of trying to fix it i will start a fresh. Thanks for your suggestions.
