Aug-23-01, 08:14 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Builing a new route" That usually means that you forgot to designate a starting tile in the Route Geometry Extractor. You also need to completely exit and restart the editing tools before this will take effect. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-23-01, 08:22 PM (EST) 3. "RE: Builing a new route" Traincool... you should have lots and lots of lushes green flat, very flat, terrain, as far as the eye can see. If you are seeing white, you need to go back and select a start tile.Okay, to create a route... you need to go to the route extractor and follow the train sim's online help. It will get you through it. Now when you get done, you are gonna see lots of flat terrain where you thought you'd see moutains, markers and whatevers to help you lay your route... SURPRISE.... wrong. It doesn't work. Maybe someday...so...you got some choices now... you can create your own terrain (lots of patience and time needed) or check out JohnCS Dem tool and Wesdowns Marker Utility. Wish I could tell you more but I started my route long time ago and to much of an old dog to learn new tricks. At least this time around. Now you have another surprise awaiting you. Hardly any objects to work with. Fortunately a couple of folks made our life easy. One way to go is to search the archives for combinedref.zip. This is an easy way to get you going.. but... you might want to seek out JW_Stephens posts on his own combinedref solution which will give you an extra 2000 objects to work with.Lots of homework to do. Also check out in the archives Route Help 2 and Activity Q & A.And there's enough here to help, so ask away. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-24-01, 09:56 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Builing a new route" I put mine on a completely different drive than my TrainSim folder. I have several virtual hard drives, and try to keep the tools in a different location than the routes. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
