Colleagues,Tonight, I have achieved what I believe is a passible texturing of the point of rock that overlays Tunnel #6 (DeerPark No.1) in the 16 mile canyon. I may have got the tunnel number wrong on the image, but it is no. 6.A fellow that rode a bicycle through here in 1982 sent me a stunning image of the east face of EaglesNest which will provide very good textures for the 4 tunnels that penetrate these fortress like rock formations in the canyon. Eagles nest is the only one where tunnel exits at a fairly high level, 90ft. above the creek. All the others are base tunnels. Tunnels 6 & 8 are straight (as is #5 - EaglesNest), but No. 7 is curved and will present a bit of a fabrication problem. We will solve it by putting together three or four blocks and leaving the interior hollow.J. H. Sullivan
Here is the formation at tunnel 3, just east of Eagles Nest, and the start of creating the cliff wall at Tunnel 4 - EaglesNest.I will also use some boulders textured with the same patters, and transfers so that the slopes at the bottom of the face have the same colors, patterns, etc. This entire canyon, nearly 20 miles in length is comprised of 4 sections of very dense rock formations, cuttings, etc. and spaces in-between that are to some extent cultivated. There are only a couple of short roads. Now, the Railroad R/W is used for access, but in the days the railroad was operational it could not have been, so some "poetic license" comes in to play to figure out what was what.J. H. Sullivan
