ok i just finsh my route well i lay down the track that it. and this route is big i guess. and i was adding a shortcut around my route and so i lay some track down and save it and exit it. i whant to see what it look like in the activity editor right. so once i enter the activity editor and click on my route this window pop up saying: Microsoft Train Simulator has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. and ask me to to view the log thing or to send it in. don't tell me i have to start all over. it took me over a week to build the route. has anyone bypass this problem befor.
Did you have anything selected when you saved? If you did, that could be part of the problem. Have you tried going back into your route through Route Editor? If not, try it. See what is going on.And remember the cardinal rule of route building:BACK UP, BACK UP, BACK UP!!!The RE is a buggy program and has been mean to the nicest of us, trashing several hours or even severaly days worth of work in about 10 seconds.....Sorry for the sarcasm, but I'm glad you spent a week on your route - I spent over a year on mine! ya i did go back in route editor and once again it got the same window as in activity editor. and i back up the file after the window pop up. i think i may have to start all over again.
Try running RouteRiter on your route to see if it can find the problem.A good rule of thumb is to back up after every editing session. Some guys even stop every 15-20 minutes to make a back up. It all depends on how much you are willing to lose (and have to redo).Shawn Becher
