Colleagues,We have tested the route in snow from Avery to Falcon and not found anything amiss except a little dirt here and there. For whatever reason, I did on running the freight consist encounter a couple of curious things. One, dirt on the track, big-time, where it had not existed in the passenger run, nor is it visible in the editor. However, the other problem is more vexing. After going through the tunnel, just east of Stetson, the position of sound regions seemed to shift about 100 meters westward, so that girder bridge sounds came up too early for Stetson bridge and ended too soon. However, I can find nothing amiss at these locations. Neither of these suggests a corruption, nor do they affect the operation.
I also came across areas where the snow texture was not heavy enough, and I found that this was in the default US2Forest texture, so I have increased the amount of snow on this texture. Since I did not rename the texture, however, I need to be sure it does not get tossed out in the RouteRiter process, and if it does, I need to include it seperately in the "options" zip file, which will go with this sim. anyway, so those who wish can copy it into the terrtex/snow folder of the route - I think RouteRiter throws out default textures to minimize the data transmission, then recopies them from default routes. So here are a few images. In the last one, a Joe has a freight well in hand at snowline - well in the snow. Well, sort of like the Benson photo and painting on the cover of Noel Holley's book.J. H. Sullivan
