Okay, I've asked for help before but here it goes. This computer lost the .~wbk file. THAT'S why it kept locking up. Kevin or John, could you help me with this? I KNOW you two have a C&TS route. The ZIP files are quote "Corupted" and "Program must terminate itself" Not only that, but i can't even get into the Train Sim Editor & Tools.Jonathan, how are those buildings coming along? I'm sorry but, I haven't been able to log in to the File Library, and get you route.Andy Miller, how's the Chama-Durango coming? When I lived in Chama, my house was about 200FT from the R.O.W. near the Rodeo Grouds. Also is the Farmington Branch included?Well I asked and I told. The X-mas Train is in 3 days and I'm still not sure I can go.DRGW489

RE: Cumbres Pass may have a second chance........

Chama-Durango is progressing, but slowly. Installing water takes a lot of time, but I've completed the vegetation and water from Navajo (about MP 377.5) to about MP 384 (2 miles east of Juanita). Those 6 1/2 miles have taken me about 2 weeks, so you can see how long this takes. The good news is that I only have to install water along the track to just west of Arboles (MP 407 or so).The Farmington Branch won't be part of this release. I've got markers for the old Pagosa Springs Branch, but probably won't include it at this time. I grew up about 100 yds from the Farmington Branch, and used to run up to the tracks and watch the last trains to run along that line way back when.Andy

Earl Knoob pointed the Pagosa Springs Branch out to me. Also he pointed out an old logging line too...the old Rio Grande grades, and logging lines...all between Chama and DGO.You remember Earl don't you Zach?!Kevin Bush

Sounds terrific (Chama-Durango). I love this part of the line, well abandoned line If you need shots of the bridges still in place west of Juanita (the large multiple steel span) check out my website, this page in particular: http://pages.sbcglobal.net/fdoti/_wsn/page4.html as it might be helpful if you don't have this information already. RE: Cumbres Pass may have a second chance........

Thanks, Matt. I think those are between Juanita and Gato, right? I hadn't planned on creating new bridges, although those would probably be a bit of fun to do. There are a couple of nice through truss bridges already in the File Library, although the ones in the FL are quite a bit sturdier than the ones that were really used on this route. Andy

Yep between Juanita and Gato. Fun drive on a pretty desolate road but there are a lot of remnants from the line still around. Check out this link (best on bridges and similar structures of the narrow gauge on the web in my opinion) if you haven't already. Immensely helpful for my G scale models and should be good for V scale as well http://users3.ev1.net/~ddye/Cumbres Pass may have a second chance – image 4

You need to know first, I need both the .w file and the .w~bk file too.Did Earl menchine the fact that there were dozens of logging branches Chama Lobato and Arboles? Biggs Jct
Biggs Spur
Lumberton
Dulce
Juanita
Pagosa Jct (Gato)
Carracus ???????
ArbolesThose are just some. If I can find a map, I'll post the picture.
there were dozens of branches along the Chama to Durango line.Andy, theres a water object in the File Library whitch are much easier to do. That's what I used on your route.REMEMBER! I need both the .w file and the .w~bk file. Here's how to tell. Run the Route Editor and run the camera to Chama. In the small camera window in the bottom corner, it tells you the tile number you are on. DRGW489

RE: Cumbres Pass may have a second chance........

Yes he showed me all of them. Or mentioned them. I saw Biggs Spur with my own eyes. I saw the depot at Pagosa, and part of the old grade. I basically found out that when driving along, if I ever want to find old logging grades along there, just look for tree stumps! Because they are EVERYWHERE!Kevin Bush

RE: Cumbres Pass may have a second chance........

Most of the branch lines disappeared relatively quickly as the timber was exhausted, and were all gone before 1940. The largest lines were the Rio Grande Southwestern, which ran from Lumberton to El Vado (now under El Vado reservoir) and the Pagosa Branch, which ran from Gato (Pagosa Junction) to Pagosa Springs. I've got markers set down for these two lines, but at this point it's doubtful that I'll include them in this version of the route. As far as the water object, that's pretty much the same type of thing that I'm using. I don't see how it can go any faster, given the amount of terrain sculpting that needs to be done to make it look decent. It's just a time consuming process.Andy

Hey Zachary,Have you seen any movements going on around the yard lately there in Antonito? Have you stepped in the shop at all? Damn I wish I was living in Chama or Antonito right now. Hopefully I will be next summer, and many years after.Kevin Bush

Next time I'm in Chama, i'll get them and textures.Kevin, do you think I live in Antonito? I wish I'd live in Chama. But I'm here near Belen, NM, about three hours south.

RE: Cumbres Pass may have a second chance........

Oh ok! yeah I thought you lived in Antonito because I know what the situation was when your dad was at the C&T. You guys lived in Antonito and your dad lived in Chama right?I might go down to Chama again in March or April to buy an apartment. I will probably get hired as a shop crewman. Which is O.K. by me! I would rather go from the shop to fireman, than deal with being a brakeman. Who know's too, I might not have to work in the shop during the operating season for all that long because once they get back to 5 loco's or so, they will need guys, and Kim Flowers KNOW'S I want up in the cab. That's where I belong anyway. But everyone has to "pay their dues". I will be proud to work in the shop too. Kim can expect a nice clean locomotive every morning. How far away is Belen from Taos?Kevin Bush
