I haven't played around with MSTS & the editor for over a year. I have reformatted my computer, so sorry to say I have lost all files and all websites that all you guys have been wonderful to help me out. I am starting once again. I am trying to find any information about converting the Cincinnati terrain into MSTS. I know that there is a program that a lot of people use to put in real terrain in MSTS. Please let me know if anyone out there has any clue what I am talking about.
I think you mean DEMEX. I think that's gotten to be pretty much the standard program for importing DEMs. It's at www.digital-rails.com. I think that TSTools also helps with that, but I'm not positive.Andy
Yeah I got it, cool thanks what about the USAphotomaps markers? Isn't that a program that you can us the satelite photos and use flags to mark out what you want to show up in MSTS. Like a bases to follow the right area one would like to have in MSTS. What is the actual program name to do this, and also how do I due it?
Yep. USAPhotoMaps is an excellent program. It downloads aerial photos and topo maps from the Terraserver automatically for an area you want to look at. You can find it here: http://jdmcox.com/You'll also need waypoints, which is in the File Library. Waypoints converts USAPM marker lists to MSTS marker files. Both are pretty easy to use - the directions are pretty good and aren't terribly involved.Andy
Sweet thanks a lot for the info. Thats exactly what I was looking for. Now all I need is a detailed map about the Queensgate yard, since I still can't tell where and how many tracks branch off once you get into the yard coming from the Ohio River, in Cincinnati.
