I'm creating my own route with MSTS, however when I pick the route I want, it loads most of the way but then gives me the World Initialization failed, and then I can't edit my route. I've searched the forum for anything that helped. I found a message saying that someone had changed their envfile names. What do I change them to?...if that even works. Thanks,Dan
Open your route's <YOURROUTENAME>.trk file and scroll down to the environment section. If you've made no changes to the environment since you generated the route, it should look like this:Environment ( SpringClear ( sun.env ) SpringRain ( rain.env ) SpringSnow ( snow.env ) SummerClear ( sun.env ) SummerRain ( rain.env ) SummerSnow ( snow.env ) AutumnClear ( sun.env ) AutumnRain ( rain.env ) AutumnSnow ( snow.env ) WinterClear ( sun.env ) WinterRain ( rain.env ) WinterSnow ( snow.env ) )If it does, go to the Train Simulator\TEMPLATE folder and copy the whole ENVFILES folder. Paste this folder into your ROUTES\<YOURROUTENAME> folder and that should do it. Backup first.Let us know how it goes.regards, charlie
You're welcome Dan. It helps having been on here for almost 3.5 years, and besides, Jeff Bush has attempted in the past to make me MSTS environmentally un-stupid.So what are you working on? regards, charlie
I'm workin on the Valley Subdivision in central Wisconsin. It's not very good, but it's good enough for me. So far I have it modeled from Brokaw (just north of Wausau) to MP 81, just south of Weston. After fixing the envfiles it worked out great, I made some changes to the tracks that I wanted, then I took a break from working and exited the editor. I then tried to get back into my route to edit some more and I got the send/don't send message from Microsoft. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks,Dan
Also...I just tried to run a train on my route and it wasn't even listed under the available routes. So I went to the Activity editor and looked at my route. Some how many chunks of mainline have gotten deleted. Has this happened to anyone before?Dan
