Well, I believe that Otto's assessment of the size of the global tsection data file has bitten me in the hiney.... I can RUN GM&O in the simulator but MANY objects don't get loaded since updating the tsection, XTracks, and NewRoads. Route Editor will S/DS on the route since the update...The route was working with the previous tsection with no problems and no edits were made between the last known good save, a known good operation, and the time I updated XTracks/NewRoads...Could someone please get with me and arrange to zip up and forward the 0026 build to me???? Thanks! I'm off work tomorrow and want to finish the detail and clean-up of the route before 1.80 is released this weekend....JBD

RE: Global TSection 0026 needed DESPERATELY!

It wasn't Otto, it was Lucas aka Swissie.http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/12720.htmlCan't help you on the build 26, I've held pat at build 24a on account of the same concerns Lucas expressed. In fact, the only add-on packages in my Global now is ScaleRail/ScaleRoad items.

RE: Global TSection 0026 needed DESPERATELY!

Don:Send me over 24a, if you would.... Last time I used the editor on the route was last Saturday and I noticed that I was getting some "failed to load shape" errors as I got close to downtown Chicago (stuffed tiles).I'm crashing after I get the ref file loaded and about 6 "failed to load shapes" now (with version 26)...JD

RE: Global TSection 0026 needed DESPERATELY!

FWIW, I got around my earlier problems by re-installing NEC4 and PSL AFTER I installed X-Tracks 3.12 (TSection.dat build 27).....I haven't had the time to look and see what was causing the problem yet, but that fixes it....Chuck Schneider

RE: Global TSection 0026 needed DESPERATELY!

Andre: What's the difference between 24 and 24a? I got 24 from Don and now am able to get back into the editor, unfortunately, my terrain has disappeared but that problem is easily fixed....Just have to find the T file that's not like the rest in size and replace and re-sculp terrains...not a major set-back, just a pain...Chuck: Could you post a link to the other discussion on this issue? I can't seem to find it back. GM&O's TDB is 11799 KB and the RDB is 5046 KB. The marker file is 1147 KB. At any rate, I'm definitely hitting the bleeding edge of route-making and the effect of the global tsection issue Lucas started....Thanks, folks!JBD

RE: Global TSection 0026 needed DESPERATELY!

Jim,A suggestion for a test to find out if size really matters (in your route of course!).What do you have, maybe Xtracks and Newroads? Reinstall release 0027 and pare it down to size with the RouteRiter "Make tsection.dat" function. I'd be interested to know how small it gets...If the route runs OK, that may be it. If it's still broken, perhaps it's the other issues you mention.regards,
charlie

RE: Global TSection 0026 needed DESPERATELY!

JBD: The 24a was a version prematurely released in the original ScaleRail release. If your system performs as intended on 24, I would stay with 24 as it is an "official" standarized tsection.dat. I will eventually have to have 24 myself before release. We do not want variants of a standard build such as I have.Glad you're up and going again.Andre MingVisit VSC's temporary web page at: http://www.vscalecreations.comVisit VSC's Forum at: http://www.3DTrains.comGlobal TSection 0026 needed DESPERATELY! – image 7

RE: Global TSection 0026 needed DESPERATELY!

Thanks, Andre.... BTW: I found the link in your original post in this thread so "nevermind" (even though I really fouled it up and asked CHUCK to post it! LOL)....Also, I'm a little hesitant to start screwing around with the Route-Riter tsection option.... Want to make sure I get all of the other issues straightened out before I do that.... Bottom line: After checking several areas on the route I've lost all of my terrain but I've got a recent back-up of the TILES folder so while I'll have a little delay due to having to put those back in and reset all my error bias values and so forth but it's a minor problem....JBD

RE: Global TSection 0026 needed DESPERATELY!

LMBO! Figured out why the terrain disappeared! When I copied the route over to another computer this morning I actually MOVED the TD folder over! Solution found!!!Now, over to the other thread and put in my $0.02 there!JBD
