On my system at least it causes S/DS on NEC 4 and the Pac Surf Beta.... If I reset my Global TSection.dat to build 25 then everything works.....
Wonder what is wrong????????Chuck Schneider

ChuckDoes the problem occur just with tsection.dat(build 27) file alone? What I am refering to is installing the tsection.dat(27) file without installing Newroads. Just like to narrow it down to the Newroads Installation or the tsection.dat file.

Nope Steve I had the same thing happen to me with TSection.dat 26 also and the only way out at that time was to re-install NEC and the PSL beta....Chuck Schneider

This sounds like a tsection.dat problem. Build 26 - reinstalling the route(s), and it worked. Hmmm...NEC V4 - I downloaded the route and it loaded fine for me, this would be the same thing as you reinstalling the route. So this doesn't change anything.PSL "Beta" - I don't have this route so can't say anything here.Same thing happened to me where the new tsection wouldn't work with my own route, remove the route it loaded fine, with the route - crash & burn.It is only these two routes that have the conflict?

Hi Steven !Will download the 00027 and test it with all my routes, including the NEC-4.More later !O t t oP.S.: Tested the Tsection.dat 00027 and found no problems with any of my routes, Default or Add-Ons, from the ALBULA down to MP3K, NEC-4, PON-9 and WUPPER-8.Can't really see why it should cause problems. If a route does not have any of the special track or roads sections listed in the Tsection.dat then it's no concern to the route.Could be that the NewRoads download is causing the problem I did not install !As a matter of interest, what has changed since the 00026 ?O t t o

The big additions were to Mtracks (Mark Hyam) and to M & Z Tracks (Clemens Hanel and Simon Merjan). A few sections by myself (to Xtracks) and some modifications by Okrasa and Tim Booth.Newroads Installer - Can't rule this out either but I tested on my own system installing, uninstalling, reinstalling, overwriting with shadow/standard versions and everything was okay on my system. So I uploaded the updates.

RE: Problems w/New Roads 3.2 and TSection.dat build 27

Guys I just duplicated it again.....
Configuration on my system prior to problem...
NEC 4
PSL Beta 111204 (note this uses subsets of 3DT Scale Rail and Roads)but installs/overlays TSection.dat build 25
XTracks 3.11
New Roads 3Install update to New Roads 3.2 which upgrades TSection.dat to build 27 and bang....... THere she blows!!!!!!! When starting either PSL or NEC4 I get to the building user interface display.... or something like that....If you don't have the problem Otto then it maybe related to scale rail changing something that is used in NEC 4....Try installing scale rail/roads from 3dt (which may approximate my having PSL installed) and see if that sets your "tilt button" off....

It does not appear that NEC V4 uses anything other than default sections, and the route's tsection.dat file does not appear to overlap with anything in the Standardized Tsection.dat file.Kind of grasping at straws here, but does Route Riter say anything about the NEC V4 route?

I've been running a slightly older build of PS and tsection-26 without issue. I'm currently downloading the latest PS beta to see what might be wrong.FWIW, I did a file compare with 26 and 27 and found only the changes mention by Steven above. Other than some added whitespace, I see nothing out of place. As for the PS builds, I haven't seen other beta guys mentioning problems - except for a couple of activities. I'll dig around in the latest one to see what's gone south.Cheers!

RE: Problems w/New Roads 3.2 and TSection.dat build 27

FWIW, I just ran the latest PS route (end to end) with tsection-26 and tsection-27 without issue. Since PS doesn't use anything but ScaleRail, ScaleRoads and a few hidden default road sections, I'm at a loss as to what might be the problem.FWIW, my install is clear of other routes and any ScaleRail development files (or obsolete ones, for that matter).Cheers!

Hi Chuck !Installed the Tsection.dat 00027, ScaleRoads and NewRoads 3.2 and have no problems with the NEC-4.Been using SCALERAIL since it was released, checking them in a test route, but not the ScaleRoads. But as neither are used by any of my other routes I have no problems.Take Care, O t t o.

Hi Chuck !Had a thought !Why don't you create a MSTS MINI Route somewhere else like:C:\NEC-4 and COPY all the Default MSTS folders into it, omitting those not needed such as HELP, SAMPLES, TEMPLATE, UTILS and all Route folders except the NEC-4.Download Xtracks 3.12 just released, which will include the Tsection.dat 00027 also.Adding it, NEWROADS, SCALERAIL and SCALEROAD to that MINI NEC-4, although the latter are not needed by it, should work the same as it does on my machine. You can run it with it's own TRAIN.EXE or a Shortcut from the Desktop if /anisotropic is required.Your problem could be that other BETA you have installed ?Take Care, O t t o.P.S.: I would never test a BETA route in my Main MSTS and always use a separate MSTS MINI Route copy, restricting likely damage to it and nothing else !

Yeah but we are way beyond the "it shouldn't cause damage" point and into testing "does it work and play well with others?" part!Chuck Schneider
