Okay here's the deal:I recently discovered a back-up of a route I thought I had lost for good (sometimes it is a good idea to go through the CDs every once and awhile!) I installed it, and since it required Xtracks I also changed to the standardised tsection.dat. I started going through the route in RE, and there was no errors whatsoever. The route loaded like a dream. The question is in the following:The route requires Xtracks in its present state. However, when I was going through the route I noticed that the vast majority (ie. more than 99%) of all track pieces are default. Actually I had only used one crossing piece (on industrial track), a few 3-degree endpnt pieces and three modular 3-degree switches. So I figured that I could change those back to the default and so I did, completely removing the Xtracks pieces. I can make the route without Xtracks.I have nothing against Xtracks, but using just a few Xtracks track sections over 200 miles of track just isn't worth it, right? But now, I need to know this:Is there a succesful way to revert back to the DEFAULT tsection.dat, without losing the numerous pieces of dynamic track? I tried with the RouteRiter6, but it gave me some errors and shut down. Also, a TDB rebuild kicked it to S/DS Land. Also selecting an already existing dyntrack kicks it off right away.Placing a piece of dynamic track now would cause ALL dyntrack pieces to disappear, followed by a S/DS.Dynamic track tsection entries currently begin at 40000 since it requires xtracks. Hello,When you have deleted all XTrack - track pieces you can do it like this: Get a copy of the original global tsection.dat and change the max-section value and the max-shape value to '40000'.Decompress all world-files.Then, the 'cvrt'-Function of TSUtil can convert your route back to original state. You only have to use the modified tsection.dat as the basis-file and the original tsection.dat as the destination. (-b...modified/tsection.dat)Using these files Route-Riter should do the job, too.regards carloshr
Well, I shall try it with Horace, though I figured the latest RR6 would do the work. For some reason I am getting some beculiar ActiveX errors at times, although I should have everything installed properly.I don't have Horace installed at the moment ("format C:" visited my hard-drive recently) and I did not needed it before.
