Aug-20-01, 01:01 PM (EST) "Western Coast Xpress Route Update - Stage 1 Nearly Complete!" We are rapidly approaching the release date for Stage 1 of our route. The three towns/areas that are being released with this portion of our route are:Town of Hatzic and Lumber/Gravel Facilities - 99% complete
Mission City & Station - 75% complete
Town of Port Haney & Station - 50% completeAs you can see from the snapshots below (more on our site), work is progressing rapidly in the Mission City area, which is full of industrial parks and is the home of the "end of the line" for our commuter rail service & yards.Work continues on the riverside industries near Mission City
A detailed look at some of the industrial park area near Mission
More details of the many industries on the shores of the Fraser River near Mission City
NOTE: We will be releasing an early beta of this first Stage of our route - to our Contributors FIRST, and then publicly on Train-Sim.com. We anticipate the Contributors will get their hands on the route the last week of August, and Train-Sim will see Stage 1 sometime shortly after Labour Day.Kern Pegg - Route Developer

Aug-21-01, 11:17 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Western Coast Xpress Route Update - Stage 1 Nearly Complete!" Stage 1, a total distance of about 12 miles, covering two major stations, three towns, plus the large logging and gravel facilities, will be ready for beta release near the end of August. I'm up every day at 4am - 6am working on the route, and more than 2/3rds of it are done now. The contributors will get first crack at it, and then it will be publicly posted on train-sim after Labour Day.I'm also hoping to have the "version 1.0" of the F59PHI engine and bi-level coaches out at that same time. Activities will be limited, as this is a test for issues not a complete release of the activities that match actual operations. Traffic will be sparse as well.December will see version 1.0 of the entire 70 miles of the route
released for public use - activities and custom consists, etc.

I didn't take this one off of the "Wish List", BUT I had wanted to do one anyways to go with my Canadian National SD-80.You "should" have both by Friday.PS; John's F59 is ALOT of fun to play with. Any ideas on where I can get good shots of this unit so I may add the proper lighting ( If John allowes me to do this )Thx kernTim Kent

Aug-21-01, 12:28 PM (EST) 5. "RE: Western Coast Xpress Route Update - Stage 1 Nearly Complete!" Yes - that's the goal. To kick some serious butt on this route, even the early Stage 1 beta release.Ideally, although I leave it to you guys to call the "go, no go", if we can have a full non-beta version 1.0 of the WCX engine and cars and cab car - that would be great, to allow those to be released with the Stage 1 release, so others can get their hands on them for repainting and stuff. You should SEE the list of names of people wanting those units =)Kern Pegg - Route Developer
