Well, it had to happen. I have decided to take the plunge and start fooling with the dreaded Route Editor. It looks like ShapeShifter,by Jacob Dicus, is a "must have" utility but I am having a problem getting it installed. I get the "Not Found Correct C:\Program Files\ShapeShifter\SS_Files\SS.ini File" error message when I attempt to start the program.I did a search of the message boards for "ShapeShifter" and was surprised to come up with zip. Can someone direct me to info that will help me get ShapeShifter up and running?I must say that I have a newly acquired profound respect for the talents and patience of all you route builders out there as a result of my limited excursion into the maze of the Route Editor. I did have the wisdom the get the excellent "Step-By-Step Guide to Route Building".As always, thanks for the assist!James
ShapeShifter in connection with the MSTS Route Editor ?Never heard anybody refer to it yet. What does it do for users of the MSTS Route Editor ?O t t o
> What does it do for >users of the MSTS Route Editor ? Exactly the same thing as Route Riter's MSTS File Utils | Copy shape to another route.Shape Shifter was released at about the same time as the MSTSpics collection a few years ago. Route Riter with SViewer have made both redundant.RegardsYuri. (steam4me) ------------------------------------- Webmaster Australian MSTS Add-ons Page -------------------------------------
I did a search of Train-Sim.com for "SViewer" but came up with nothing. Where would I find out more about SViewer....and for that matter Route Riter. I am very new to the Route Editor and am interested in learning to manipulate objects. Thanks, James
Thanks gentlemen. It looks like route-riter is the thing for me, but I confess that it looks complex. At this point I am interested in learning how to identify shapes from the default MSTS routes and install them in a small test route that I am fooling with. I have a lot to learn, but appreciate the assist!James
