I am sure someting on this has been posted before but I cannot find anything when I do a search. So here goes.I have been messing around with Sea Veiw 4 and noticed that, on a certain stretch of track, the speed limit as shown in the top line of the Track Monitor changes from 35mph to 25mph then back again though there are NO speed signs to reflect this and the 25mph zone is NOT refllected in the Track Monitor until the player train passes a certain point. While running the sim there are no error messages.I was curious what might cause this so I noted the location and opened the Route Editor. When I jump to the location in question I get the error, "Failed to create item mark" and am forced to quit RE.Anyone know what is happening here and how I can fix this?Thank-you, Gary Cameron Grande Prairie "The last civilized stop before Alaska," AB Canada
\World\~.w files out of synch with the root .tdb and .tit files. Sounds like there's a speed zone in the .tdb and .tit, and the marker with the connected sign is missing from the .w file. That's one of the problems with fixing after a crash by renaming the .bk files, unless you rename all the \World .bk files plus all the root .bk files at the same time you're gonna end up out of synch. How to fix, I dunno, I've always restored from the most recent backup that was in synch. Only thing I can think of is hunting thru the .tdb and .tit files, manually deleting all references to the problem speedpost, incrementing all the numbers by one in both files, then after cursing for a while when you get send/don't send delete all the track and road database files and run the rebuild. That will leave you with no track objects at all, but at least the speedpost will be gone.
