While testing new signal scripts I am getting an error while trying to open the test route in the RE:Error reading signal config file - Line: 2789Okay, fine. I open up the file to find it only has 2696 lines total. How can an error occur almost 100 lines past the end of the file? Has anyone else encountered something like this?Todd

The script is missing a closing bracket or paren.

Thanks, Vince. It was not only a missing paren I also forgot to addScriptFiles ( ScriptFile ( sigscr.dat )
)at the end.Now I am no longer receiving error messages, but I am getting the dreaded send/don't send. Would I be correct in assuming this is a problem in my script file?

Yes.The signal scripts drove me nuts on the NEC4. Very hard to see the difference between a paren and a bracket, and they DO make a big difference if you substitute one for the other.Signalmaster built the scripts for the NEC4 and instead of leaving well enough alone O went in and cleaned up the scripts, aligning statements and so on. Thats where I screwed up by inserting parens where there should have been a bracket. It was easier when I changed the 10 point type to 24 point for the editing which made it much easier to see the difference.
Must change back to 10 point though when finished.

There's an editor in the file library that does a spectacular job of keeping track of those pesky parenthesis, I can't recall the name of it just right off the top of my pointy little head, and the File Library is busy right now... Anyone?Rob

RE: error loading sigcfg.dat - bad line #

I opened the script file in Visual Studio to take advantage of the color coding, parentheses matching, etc., but can't find anything wrong. I do have a backup that works so I have decided to use source code control (in my case SourceSafe) to track all changes while I try this again.Error loading sigcfg.dat - bad line # – image 1What I am trying to do is add the ability to link more than one route to a signal head like what was done with Conrail Indy 2. Since my route also uses the same basic NYC/Big Four signal rules as Conrail Indy 2 I am using that script file as a guide, but obviously something went wrong along the way. Thanks for the help.
