My tracks are static objects without db lines. When I remove the .rdb, .tdb, rit, and .tit files and the backups and then rebuild the track using the advance button, I still do not get any of those files. If I go into the RE and click on a track section I then get the db lines for that section and a .tit and .tdb files, but not .rit or .rdb files. If I then save and get out of RE and then go back in the DB lines are above the track section that I previously clicked on. But if I do a rebuild before I go back in I loose the DB lines. Why do the rebuilds kill the DB lines?

RE: db lines

You'll probably get someone who really knows why this is happening to answer the rest of your question, but on the .rit and .rdb files, those are for roads (hence the "r"). The .tit and .tdb files ("t") are for track.I don't know why you're not getting the .tdb and .tit files when you do a rebuild. When you say your tracks are "static objects," how do you mean? I'm assuming you've placed the tracks from the "Track Sections" portion of the object select window. Are you using XTracks or other add-on package? And if so, do you have the correct tsection.dat file? Have you made any changes to the Global folder?Andy

>When you say your tracks are "static
>objects," how do you mean? What I mean by that is that they do not have the DB line above them in the RE even when DB is checked in the view window, and they do not show up in the AE.>I'm assuming you've placed the

>select window. That is correct.>Are you using XTracks or other add-on

>Have you made any changes to the Global folder? No.>Andy I can get the DB line back for a section of track by checking the section. I can save the route, get out of the route, go back into the route and the DB line is there. It is the rebuild that destroys the DB line.
One more item. I used MSFT ver1.0 and DEMEX dated 10/02.
Thanks

Hello,Are the tiles still marked using Geometrie-Extractor ?I did not check that, but it is possible, that only marked tiles are visited during TDB-rebuild.
You will not get db-lines from tiles which are not visited during tdb-rebuild.regards

RE: db lines

You are right the. The quad-tree is missing. It is on my other computer but not the one I use. Where are the quad-tree files stored?
Thanks

The quad tree files are located in the tiles folder. There are four different kind of files there but I don't remember which is what. If you have a backup somewhere, copy them all and do another tdb rebuild.Cal Rasmussen

RE: db lines

Thanks to Cal and Carlos. After about 5 tries the route extractor tiles showed up. And now when I do a build I keep the DB lines. Before when I did a rebuild it would immediately say all tiles visited, now the camera flies all over the place and actually visits the tiles. Whe the sudden difference I don't know.

RE: db lines

Glad it worked out, Chuck. That's another little trick about rebuilds I hadn't seen before, but it makes sense. Thanks, Carlos and Cal!Andy
