Is it possible to have more than 9 different terrtex textures in one tile because the texture selector does not give you a number to press for anything above texture number 9 so does this mean you can only have up to 9 different terrtex textures in one tile? Hello, press Q Button and the 9 numbers will shift one position for each key-press. BTW this is one of the rare explanations of the MSTS-online helpRoman

>Ok thanks for your quick response. I never knew their was >such a thing as MSTS-online help! > When you are in the RE you will see a menu along the top of the window, Help is one of the options. Beer is not a matter of life and death. It is much more serious than that. mervyn.

If you mean the size of the texture window - this requires an edit in the Windows registry.Cheers! Marc - 3DTrains http://www.3dtrains.comPro Series SuperPacks

Could someone explain what changes are required within the registry to get a fair-sized texture selector window? If only some wizard would make a tool for that ... and many other registry edits in MSTS...Cheers, Northern Greetings from TVRail President & CEO, Dakota Eastern Railroad Member of Yonder Locomotive Works

No tool is needed, place the cursor pointer at a corner of the window and drag it either horizontally or vertically until you get a size that can show all the texture tiles you need for that area in which you are working. As Roman mentioned, pressing the Q button rotates the numbering of the terrain tiles so that the keyboard can be used to select a tile that you want to place on the train. It was not all that long ago when I read here there is a more efficient way when the textures you want to select are scattered all over the selector window. In the Route Editor window, select the sub-tile(s) to which you want a new terrain texture applied. The borders will change from black lines to red lines. Then move the cursor to the Tile selector window and select the terrain texture you want to use. Now move return to the Route Editor window. but click the cursor somwhere on the boundary of the window itself so that the window becomes the active window. Touch the space bar on your keyboard and the texture highlighted in the selector window will be applied to the sub-tiles highlighted in the Route editor window!!! I had a near rapture experience when I learned that technique, because I had almost worn the "q" key out with pathologically pressing to get the right texture selected.

Well ya never stop learning new tricks with this addiction. After weeks of frustration cycling the Q key through over 60 terrain tiles to get to the latest one I want to place, Phil pops in with this little gem. "Near rapture" happiness is. Cheers
