Colleagues,Has anybody done a Forest Fire Lookout Tower and not put it in the library. If so, I would appreciate a copy of it. I need one to put atop Lookout Pass, where the topo. maps say there is one. Otherwise, I will try to cobble one up myself after I do what else there is to do. Spent most of today working on the RMD-4, as the wife and a girlfriend went down to the Outlet Mall, and it has rained except for 9-10am when I did get in a little yardwork.J. H. Sullivan

RE: RMD-4, Question

Until they were abandoned and removed, most towers in Michigan were based on the steel power pole design. This one is similar in design to one that I climbed up on 40 years ago near Gaylord. You can bury it to adjust height on the hilltops of your forested route.SRV Ron

RE: RMD-4, Question

That will do quite nicely. I have your power poles and they will be used in at least two locations.
1 - A Hi-T line crosses the St.Regis-Paradise line about the midway point.2 - Another Hi-T line crosses over the crest of the Bitteroots about 1/4 mile northwest of the Milwaukee Road, and it's towers proceed up the Rainey Creek Draw on the opposite slope to the Railroad.Once again, Ron comes through for me (us).J.
