HiI have downloaded the LGV Med 3.0 route witch requires X-tracks 3.10 to be installed. I need help installing X-tracks...
Can someone explain to me how I do it? I've done everything the Readme file tells me to, but I still can't make it. I keep getting some error messages about missing textures and stuff...I have downloaded all three X-tracks files that excists in the File Library, and I've installed them the way I'm told to, but nothing seemed to help...So can anyone please explain to me how to do it?

Hi Homer !

You can forget the Xtracksr.zip, it's aimed at Route Developers. The best one for you would be the self-extracting Xtracks.zip which, given the correct destination for the Install C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator, if C: is the drive where MSTS has been installed, will do it all for you. There must be a Tsection.dat in the GLOBAL folder which opening it with a Text Editor should tell you at the top that it is Build 00023 !If that did not work, then something is not where is should be. Have a look into your GLOBAL\SHAPES folder and look for a File named A1t0_3mStrt.s at the top of the list and if it is there than you have got Xtracks ! If not then we might have a try installing the Xtracksf.zip after having done a "Search" for the above file to find out where you have actually installed Xtracks into !Will tell you the HOW-TO for the afore later after you have reported back.O t t oP.S.: It might be a good idea for the Self-Installer to check the Destination entered by the Installer by looking for a MSTS Default Standard Track piece in GLOBAL\SHAPES and if not found announce that the Destination is incorrect ? We seem to be getting the odd problem, a guy not being able to Install properly !

RE: X-tracks

Well, I opened the tsection.dat file and it said Build 00023 and I also found the file A1t0_3mStrt.s at the top in the SHAPES directory. The real problem is that I also build routes, and I need to now how I install the X-tracks for Route Developers...I didn't understand so much how to install it...And in the Route Editor, I keep getting error messages about that it failed to load textures and stuff...I need to know how to avoid that by installing the X-tracks for Route Developers...

RE: X-tracks

Hi Homer !The xtracksr.zip is a comprehensive Information source about Xtracks HOW-TOs, also containing some textures files for Narrow Gauge and Double Gauge Tracks. You unzip it into a new empty Folder and then read all about it.O t t o

RE: X-tracks

Well, this stuff about X-tracks and stuff are getting to complicated to me, so I've instead decided to dowload the 2.1 version of the LGV Med route to avoid those error messages and stuff...
But thanks for the help anyways.

I think much of your problem could be you are selecting sections that are neither original or XTracks like those in Romans YTracks or ScaleRails. Most A*t sections should work fine with XTracks installed without need for additional textures. They should work fine as soon as the installer is finished. The a1t0_2mStrt is one exception which I refuse to remedy as that section can cause other problems.

RE: X-tracks

Hi Homer !If you got Xtracks 3.10 and the Tsection.dat 00023 installed then there are no problems with the latest LGV-MED ! I got them all !The "Developers" Zip only gives you information and tutorials about Xtracks, it does not add anything to the Xtracks 3.10 range, apart from some Rail and Track textures for some none standard tracks you probably will not need anyway. If you get error messages about missing Track Pieces in the RE then you have not got the item you have selected in your GLOBAL\SHAPES folder. Check it out and tell us the name of the Track Section the RE is complaining about. Say YES you want to continue working in the RE and chose another Track piece. There are many Track Sections listed in the Tsection.dat which are not part of Okrasa's Xtracks and need to be downloaded from somewhere. That also applies to Roman's Y-Tracks with its range of Single, Double-Slips and 3-Way-Y-Switches. Their full range will be available from our File Library and my Web Site as soon as the Tsection.dat 00025 has been released.O t t o

RE: X-tracks

Try www.mstrainstop.com .
Xtracks 3.10 is hosted here with a self installer, so you don't have to lose a lot of time with those .zip files...however, reading the readme.txt should be enough to install xtracks without any problems...Regards,René-----------------------------

That's nothing unique for the mstrainstop upload. The self installer is available right here and is one of the three files talked about earlier in this thread (xtracks.zip).There are three distribution files of XTracks;
xtracks.zip - self installer for end-users.
xtracksf.zip - zip-file archive for end-users (same content as xtracks.zip).
xtracksr.zip - textures and documentation only needed by route builders. As of yesterday the latest version of XTracks is v3.11, hopefully this will end the cnfusion between versions v3.1 and v3.10.

RE: X-tracks

Well, I decided to start using X-tracks myself in my own route. I ran Route_riter and made it make a new tsection.dat file for the global folder containing only the working track shapes/textures so that I could get rid of those error-messages. And it worked too!So now I've decided to try'n download LGV Med 3.0 after all and then install X-tracks 3.11...
