How nice would be an old route through Texas – image 1

Hello:(Once I wrote about this):Isn't there anybody, from Texas or from southern states in the U.S.A. that likes to make a route (maybe fictitious) simulating those old times in the wild wild west?
Something back to 1850 or something like that, something that simulates steam locomotives pulling mixed trains (passenger & freight), with wooden platforms, wooden stations, cowboys, indians, soldiers, a sheriff, the saloon...even a banjo heard continuously.
Also sidings and wagons for cattle.I know I expect too much, because none of us lived in those years, and special objects are needed for that. But it's something that I'd like to play, something that's part of your history. Some months ago somebody told me that there was a route like that in preparation, is it?.
The Rio Grande Southern narrow gauge route is a very good scenery for that, but it's based in a later time and there were problems with some textures.
With standard gauge it would be very nice..Well, perhaps this is good for an idea...
I'm sorry if this looks strange.I'm not begging for anything, but if somebody know something; I'd like to keep in touch.Greetings...

Eduardo.

RE: How nice would be an old route through Texas

I agree, Eduardo. MSTS offers the tremendous opportunity to recreate a time in railroading long gone.Though I've not attempted a flatlands "Texas" style old west route... I am nearing release on a route set in 1901-1902. The locale is the Ozark hills of southern Missouri and northern Arkansas. I've tried to incorporate as much of the "look" of the era as was practical. That is, structures, depots, bridgework, etc. IMHO, though, the real reward of such a route is in the operation, as well as the handling of trains with smaller steam engines. In all, it makes for a very "different" MSTS experience.

Andre:I'm happy to know this.
I think that this route will have much success.
I saw the pictures at the first link you put below.
I really liked the one where the steam engine crosses the streets.
The others are good too, with nice textures!I hope you can release it soon, and I wish you success.I'll be waiting...
Thank you very much, for all!Regards

RE: How nice would be an old route through Texas

Thank you Eduardo. As for it being successful (financially)... we will see! I've already received a bunch of enjoyment from the route, equipment and activities personally, so in that respect, it is already a success for me.jbt1024:Where: You will be able to purchase it via PayPal (initially) at my V Scale Creations website. How much: It will be under $20, which will include shipping. It will be available via CD only. When: IF the final two/three small items goes well, it will be released later this week. You can follow the progress/latest news/etc at the VSC forum.
