Due to a need for better looking structures, both for the Lake State and other requests. I am taking a few days off on houses to work on a set of generic conveyers, sorters, piling conveyers, and loading towers, for the use in open pit gravel and rock quarries. There are several in the area using various types of equipment for handling crushed rock and gravel. I have been able to, (using my eyes and mind as the camera,) fabricate a series of structures for a kit for the open pit mines. (I do have pics of small unloaders that I will model.)Larger structure layout I have been able to observe using Terrserver pics of the mines including several large tinned buildings at one remote quarry. Most of the mobile stuff, such as end loaders, off road trucks, and some cranes, are already available in the forum library. Here is a sample pic of today's work and beta copies of several structures. They all use existing uploaded textures - read the readme1st.txt for what is needed and where to get them if you don't already have the textures.SRV Ron

RE: Working on open pit mining structures

That is great Ron, those will look real good around some areas of Wallace, ID. That thing you pictured will pass for a "concentrator" whatever that was.
Silver was the main attraction in Wallace, but there were many other minerals mined along with it.J. H. Sullivan

Ron, I'm just very glad I waited to do the fix/update on my route. However, not sure if I'll ever get it done with you all adding such delightful items. Thanks again!RobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com

RE: Working on open pit mining structures

Here is a prototype of a cable supported boom. I need to redo the tower as the flat textures are distorting too much on the tapered tower. I'll post a beta when I am happy with the construction. Also, got a good look at a sorting tower. Will work on that next as time permits.SRV Ron

Any more pics of this? The custom crane in this terrserver photo is impressive. But, I can't get close enough to it to photograph properly. (Too many trees in the way from the nearest back road to where I can get closer then a mile from it.)Edit, forgot the pic.SRV Ron

RE: Working on open pit mining structures

Just D/Ld it and am busily populating a rock quarry at Pedernal NM on the route I am building (Clovis Sub).I know this is a beta release, so as info, the texture SRV_Bridge4d can be found in srvbrtex.zip which was not mentioned in the read me.This really great work!!

RE: Working on open pit mining structures

Either location will work. srvbrtex.zip uses the most current texture. You're right. Somehow, I lost the copy of that updated upload and the recommended upload doesn't contain it.For anyone that can't locate the missing texture, you can get it here in the link below.SRV Ron
