Two separate zip files posted this morning to the file library which will upgrade V1.0 to V1.5....Files are: GMONL151.ZIP (40 MB) and GMONL152.ZIP (125 MB). RE: GM&O V1.5 Update Posted!

To install the 1.5 Update, follow these steps:#1 -- Backup your entire GMONEW folder!#2 -- Go back, re-read #1 and REALLY do it!!!#3 -- Verify that you have ALL of the following add-ons properly installed before continuing: XTracks 3.10, Kosmos 1.1, NewRoads, and Hobart's RRSTUFF.ZIP (for the steel track bumpers)#4 -- Unzip both GMONL151.ZIP and GMONL152.ZIP to C:\
(The zip file contains full path information and the files will go to the DEFAULT Train Sim installation path! If your installation is NOT default, then unzip to the DESKTOP and click/drag the GMONEW folder in the "PROGRAM FILES" folder which just appeared on your desktop over to your TrainSim/Routes directory. You will get terrain buffers generated on starting the sim and choosing the route. If you get "Failed to Initialize Train World" and crash, run Kosmos and select DEFAULT CLEAT, apply it to SUMMER and CLEAR for GM&O V1.5. Try re-starting the sim. If you continue to get errors then go back and look at #3 above. The missing shapes from the 1.4 update should now be fixed!IMPORTANT: This upgrade REQUIRES version 1.0 be installed first. The 1.4 upgrade is not necessary and is no longer supported!Bug Reports to jdbandman@hotmail.com. Please don't send non-descript messages like "I get a legion of missing shapes." Be specific about what is happening, list some (or all if possible) of the missing shapes or describe in as detailed a manner as possible what steps you took and/or what problems are occurring. I will NOT respond to bug reports which have no specific description of problems as I have recently lost my ability to read minds....JBD

RE: GM&O V1.5 Update Posted!

Once again the YellowBuffer.ace issue arises.... Apparently this is an on-going issue with Route Riter. If you get the YB error, copy the file from any other route into GMONEW/TEXTURES.JBD

RE: GM&O V1.5 Update Posted!

Hey JimFantastic update to your route, with all the additional scenery, this thing is really coming together. I have only one problem, a sms error in Springfield. How can I fix that? Couldn’t read the entire message because MSTS calls home afterwards. Thanks

RE: GM&O V1.5 Update Posted!

SMS errors relate to sound objects. Easiest solution is to delete the .ws file for that section. You shouldn't get an SMS error unless you don't have all the sounds in the correct place. Start by looking at files 11609x14309.ws through 11610x14311.ws in the WORLD folder.Let me know what specific sound error comes up and I'll have a better clue as to what happened...JBD

RE: GM&O V1.5 Update Posted!

Hi Jim,I downloaded and installed GM&O release 1 with Xtracks, Newroads, etc...
and then updated it to1.5
For the update to V1.5 you quote Kosmos 1.1 and the only updated version available at train-sim is 1.01
I suppose that's the one you meant. The route seems very attractive but I have problems with the activities supplied with it (I kept only the v1.5 ones) for I don't know where to find some list of the necessary rolling stock and the associated consists.I downloaded all GM&O stuff from Paul's site (mstsgmo.com) and tried to solve my problem with actdevpk.zip ... to no availWhat do you recommend ?Best regards from BelgiumJacques

RE: GM&O V1.5 Update Posted!

The activity developer's pack is based upon Ver. 1.0. The path/services/etc contained in the 1.5 update will bring all of those up to date. You should also consider the Multi-Player Activity pack I posted a couple weeks ago...JBD

RE: GM&O V1.5 Update Posted!

One additional problem. Starting on the cim East of Ridgely yard and proceeding accross the GM&O the was an error message stating that sim could not load the sms source. No file reference. At the end of this line, near the proposed yard (at the grain elevator) there was an additional error message. Failed to load a pop up widget. Referance was to a .dat file. No more info as the sim locked up. I hope that this is of some use. Great bridge coming out of STLCUS. Narrow but neat!
