Question #1: Is it possible to have more than one shape for Dynamic Track? I'm hoping to be able to use DT in a few specific places for bridge/elevated trackage that I can't make work with X-Tracks bridge sections....Question #2:How about DOUBLE track Dynamic Track? Anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks!JBD
Dynamic Track is capable of being shaped into an S curve. There are entries for straight lead in, curve, mid section straight, second curve, and ending straight. Unfortunely, that feature, to enter a negative value to form the S curve, is not available in the RE. It has be done by fiddling with some data in the files that result, a real pain of trial and error. SRV Ron
If you mean giving dynamic track different radii/lengths in different locations, indeed you can: in fact, each time you lay a dynamic track section, you must specify its radii/lengths that you desire for that location. If by DOUBLE track dynamic track you mean parallel tracks, that is not available: you need to lay separate dynamic tracks side by side, adjusting the radii and lengths as needed. No, you guys all missed the point.I want to know if it's possible to have two TYPES of dynamic track, one with ballast, one of bridge rails.... My questions were not directed at dynamic track basics....I figured that the automatic double track wasn't possible as I haven't heard of anyone doing it...What I want to know is if you can define two distinct STYLES of dynamic track or if we are limited to just one texture....JBD
Question 1:No. What dynamic track looks like is hard-coded into the simulator. Your bridge/elevated track will have to have a ballasted deck if you want to use it there. You might be able to raise up the bridge deck so that it covers the ballast of the dynamic track and just the rails show through.Question 2:Yes. Easy. Just make the outside track have a radius 5 meters larger than the inner track. If you add another track (triple track), add another 5 meters to that radius. Keep the angle (radians) the same for all of the tracks.Actually, if you want to be really picky, you should add 4.98 or 4.99 meters to each radius as you go out from the inner track. Kuju, in their infinite wisdom, for some reason decided to space the tracks 4.985 meters apart, and since we only get two decimal places when adjusting dynamic track radius, you have to choose one or the other. If you are REALLY REALLY picky you can edit the world file to make each radius 4.985 meters larger. In all honesty though, I've used a lot of dynamic track curves on double track and I have always just added 5 meters, and it works fine. The author of the Raton Pass and Glorieta Pass route, who used a lot of dynamic track on curves, did the same thing.Hope this helps.Mark
