RE: Unwanted Markers

Unwanted Markers – image 2

Two methods come to mind. First, if you know the exact (or real close) coordinates of the markers, go into the <routename>.mkr file and delete the entries that have those coordinates. The second method is to delete the marker file and recreate it if necessary. If you do like some people and have markers for your entire route, this is not feasible. I seldom have more than a couple hundred markers in use at any given time.I think that is a type 2 marker. There is another similar one that is blue. When you are creating markers, make sure you have not accidently selected one of those two types. I find they are useful occasionally to mark terrain features or the edge of the map I'm currently working from. They are useless for marking track or roads.Cal Rasmussen

Joe:That marker bothers you in the middle of the way, at the worst place. If you do not want to see any marker, in the RE, just click in the View menu, and in the popup menu uncheck Markers, so they will disappear from your sight.I use markers to build a large route into scale, first I notice the latitude and longitude in the RGE, and put those values into the .MKR file. Then in the RE, the markers tell me where the track is supposed to be laid. You use them as a guide, until you don't need them any longer. If you want to, you can open the .MKR file with Wordpad and delete only the markers that you don't want to have.I hope this helps you .Good luck !
