I've got a problem with a couple of custom objects I built for the route I'm working on.I finished them in GMAX and exported them to MSTS. When I place them, they are buried halfway into the ground. They look the way I wanted them to and it's easy enough to raise them up, but it would be nice to have them sit on the surface from the start. The simplest one is a whistle sign that I was going use to replace all of the default signs that I already placed, using Route-Riter. I don't want to do that and then have to go in and raise each one of them individually. There are probably 100 of thise signs along the route. I expect that the problem started at the time I placed the individual pieces in GMAX, but I'm not sure what I did or didn't do and I'm wondering if this can be corrected without rebuilding the entire thing.I've tried looking in the help files but they are hard to sort through to find the information needed.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Craig
You need to ensure the model's world axis is centered, and then you can select the objects vertices or polys and raise so that its base is at 0. The side and front views should show grid lines to help you visualize the placement, but the world axis should be exact. Use the Transform Type In tool to do this (F12). Cheers! http://www.vmbollig.de/msts/tut_en/index.htmlWork through this tutorial. You'll be able to do anything in GMAX with MSTS after that. Very clear, explains everything from the "Ground up"!CPL
Thanks,I'll try your suggestions. I take it that it would be best to start again from scratch.I had seen the tutorial before, but didn't pay much attention to it since I'm building static objects, not locomotives.Craig
