Afternoon all,I have replaced all of the wooden signal gantries for metal gantries as I like the look of them much better,Now here's the problemThe signals now "float" about 3 ft above the new gantries.I have started going through and lowering the signals one by one ... but this will take weeks to complete this task.Is there ANYTHING within the Routes folder that determines the height of these signals that I can change ?ORIs doing this work the l-o-n-g way my only option ?ThanksLater
>I'm afraid the long way is the only way to go on this one... > >How many signals are in your route? Its not my route ...I'm basically Canadian-izing the NEC 4.0 Route as a side project from my Toronto routeIn other words ..... LOTS of signals !Thanks for your help anyways .... back at it I go !!Later
AFTER MAKING A BACKUP COPY OF THE ROUTE, you could try this:Open up one of the \World\whatver.w files with wordpad, search for "signal:Signal ( UiD ( 2204 ) FileName ( US2BSignal1A.s ) Position ( -608.218 56.5887 46.5897 ) QDirection ( 0 0.69779 0 0.716302 ) VDbId ( 4294967295 ) SignalSubObj ( 00000001 ) SignalUnits ( 1 SignalUnit ( 0 TrItemId ( 0 589 ) ) ) )Fiddle around with the position and qdirection until you figure out which one is height. It would be helpful to try this on a quad that has only one signal on it, so you don't have to screw around finding which one is which. Once you figure out which number is elevation, and how much you want to raise/lower, just change the numbers in the .w files.AS FAR AS I KNOW the numbers in the tit and tdb files apply only to the red triangle (the trip) on the track, and only the .w file contains the info on position and direction of the signal head.
Just tried it, Tim, it's the middle number in position. Position ( -608.218 56.5887 46.5897 )indicates the signal head is 56.5887 meters above sea level. Changing it in the route editor doesn't update the tit or tdb, only the .w file it's in, so I think you can safely hunt thru all the signal entries in the .w file, add .4 or subtract .231 or whatever from each one.
