I get this error when trying to do a rebuild of a route
database 'remove_end_end one non-vector, one vector'There are 2 references I found on the forum
http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/10903.html
http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID6/11209.htmlBut being the newbie I am an abacus is not open during the weekend.
<grin>
Does BLUE POLES that I see mean a bad spot on the layout??
The above references talk about BLUE POLES and bad trackI have roadways (automobile) that I can see stuff in RE that I can't when operating a EXPLORE ROUTE in MSTS -- or I can see a road but no supporting GIRDERS beneath it if I am in 2 looking down on the locomotive when in MSTS trainsim..Thanks in advance,Butch

RE: RE error

Butch - there are two different issues here. The "rogue blue pole" is a relatively common problem that pops up when building routes. The blue poles are what you always see in the RE at the end of a section of track. Unfortunately, they also pop up here and there where they're not supposed to be.There are situations where the track database file becomes a bit corrupted, and doesn't recognize where a section of track is supposed to fit. So it thinks that there is an "end of track" at a point where the track is actually continuing.This is the issue that the previous posts are discussing, and there have been numerous threads that have described how to get rid of the problem. It's not always an easy one to get rid of.The second issue is one of settings. You may not have your object density slider set high enough to see all the objects, like bridges and automobiles and etc. when you're in the game. They always show up in the RE, but you have to have your game settings high enough to show when you're in EXPLORE ROUTE.Andy

RE: RE error

Aaaha!!
I went into options and did what you said and sure enough I now see everything -- wasn't to sure which way to go with Advanced Error Threshold so I put it at 100% (?)..I have all the resources this game can demand -- if this old brain can now be brought up to speed with book learning I will be all set.. Thanks ever so much for your insight..Now I have to find the culprit that gives me the aforementioned error when I try and do a rebuild...Butch is the name 38 is the year I was born...

RE: RE error

Butch - the rebuild will usually crash at the point where there's an error. When you get the send/don't send dialog box, write down the latitude/longitude of the compass at the top of the RE screen. This is where the problem is at (or at least one of the problems!). Jump to it in the RE and try to delete that piece of track.Andy

RE: RE error

It worked thanks ever so much -- but it turned out to be a missing piece of highway and not a part of the rail system.. Went ahead after deleting that section of road SAVED and then went back in and did a rebuild and it visited all the world tiles...Thank You...Butch

RE: RE error

Butch,The critical thing to remember is to lay all of your track and roads before attempting to add anything that relates to the track or roads, like crossing signals, railway signals, mileposts, speedboards, and we have also found electrification gantries, when automatically placed, may also cause later trouble if you then attempt to edit the track or roads IN ANY WAY.
To this end, once you finish with your track and roads, and are satisfied that all the blue poles are gone, I suggest backing up the .tdb, .tit, .rit, and .rdb files seperately some place. Sometimes, you can use these to restore a corrupted database later if you have to. It does not matter what order you place static objects in, but I suggest completing all static objects as well before placing track or road related items - including car spawners.J. H. Sullivan
