Colleagues,In one of the posts sometime back, a website was mentioned that has nothing but textures on it. Most of the textures are 96x96 images at 300dpi, and some fiddling can either adjust them to 512x512 at 72dpi, or else you can paste them onto a blank file, I chose the latter, since I could randomize a bit as I went, and PhotoShop Elements allows about 30 layers on the .psd file, but the last step is to merge all visible layers and save as a .tga file. (targa, 24 bit)One of the textures appears to be a collection of pine needles, and has a somewhat lighter color than my other efforts. Therefore the attached image is of the same area as last night, but with what I believe I will use as the base, close to track, texture in this area. I also thinned down Turkey Creek, although 1/2 mile further west, I have a credible waterfall coming out of NoName Creek - infact none of these creeks really show in the real world as the vegetation is dense, and the flow is small, but-----------.The plan is to use my other texture further away from the immediate sight, and use US2Forest as the most distant texture, along the mountain tops. It may not be necessary to create 1/2 & 1/4 pieces, we will see. The creek is a transfer, made from the same texture, with a thin bit of white water added in the middle. I think the waterfall will be quite convincing, so I will leave that as a surprise for downloaders.J. H. Sullivan
