Will there be a NS "Rathole" route, Atlanta North District, or any other NS former SOUTHERN Railroad route (completely modeled with all scenery and yards) or if we go N&W Heritage go with Roanoake to Norfolk! or CSX RF&P, Rivanna, James River, Piedmont, North Mountin, or CSX North End Subs? I'd like to run something near where I live! I like the routes out there, but they're getting boring because I don't know them too well, and I'd like to run something closer to home and even see what the lines look like since I've not been able to travel the entire line. Thanks for your help!

RE: When........ just when........

Honestly, I knew nothing about route building. That is why I got Michael Vone's excellent book "Step by Step Guide to Route Building". It is available at http://trainsimulatorworld.com/ It will be the best $20 you ever spent. For me, route building is like building a model railroad without the limitations of four walls. It just takes a little time to learn how to use the new tools provided in Train Simulator.Take care,
Rich S.

Trey:Like they used to say when I lived just north of Atlanta: "Boy? You ain't from around here, are ya!" Just kidding of course, but I've been workin' on a Southern route for two years now, and a simple search of the route forum or screen shot forum should, I hope, get you plenty of screenshots of a fully scenic'd Southern route in progress. I don't know what the Atlanta North District is, and I do apologize for that. I'm modeling the mainline from Doraville just outside I-285 (Atlanta) to just south of Greenville, SC. Part of the Piedmont Division. I've COMPLETED (everything) from mile 585 to 558.I didn't model Inman yard because I'm not up to it, and frankly neither is the train simulator. There is that small yard in Doraville, a larger yard north of Gainesville (New Holland), and the yard in Toccoa.Bad news is its taken me two years and I've only got scenery from Gainesville to just north of Cornelia. Since there is a wye in Gainesville (CSX doesn't mind if we use it) and another in Toccoa, and because there's a yard in both places, I'm going to release the route when I get to Toccoa and get it lookin' like a town.I hope North Georgia and part of South Carolina is close enough to what you're lookin' for. Here's a link to some pictures: http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID15/2566.htmlNice to meet you!Mark

The NE Georgia/SC RoutePS: I could never have done it without Michael Vones' book.

RE: When........ just when........

Well, when I exhaust my possibilities with the Milwaukee Road, I might consider it, I certainly have the knowledge, except that I would have to get a current profile from some where. My interest would, however, be limited to the 2nd district, from Danville, south to Oakdale, TN. As a modern railroad, reamed out in 1963, it is hard to beat, and the possibilities are endless for trains between those points.
Between 3/67 and 8/78, I was required to be present when the Southern Geometry car tested this line. In addition I was required to be present when the "directors" inspected it each fall - that was a mobile A-- Reaming session on the old Southern. NS - don;'t have any use for it except the dividends on my several thousand shares of stock.J. H. Sullivan
