I don't know whether you noticed Okrasa saying that he forgot to include the new look MANUAL 10d Switches in his latest XTracks-10, only supplying the AUTOMATIC version ?Copy the A1tPnt10dLft.s to A1tPnt10dLftMnl.s and you got new look Switches everywhere. Beautiful, stand back in amazement ! O.K. the gravel needs doing something about and the rotation of the blades could do with reducing a shade to narrow the gap between them and the stock rail when in the "open" position ? Ditto with the Right 10d Switches.O t t o

Can't find the name or contact for the guy who modified the 10° switches, Okrasa mentioned.So I am showing this request for another small modification which would be great if Okrasa could pass it on to him and include the modified shapes in the next release of XTracks, also remembering to apply them to the MANUAL Versions as well. Thanks !!! The gap on the left is too wide and there should be no gap on the right, the switch blade blending into the stock rail the same way as the one on the left when closed.The right-hand version shows the same and also has a slightly kinky left blade, Roman's right-hand switch also has a problem with. Sebastian,the new-look 10° Switches are already part of XTracks-10 but only in their AUTOMATIC version. To make the MANUAL ones look the same, copy the A1tPnt10d???.s over the A1tPnt10d???Mnl.s until Okrasa includes them with the next version of XTracks, as well as other improvements from TEEMU V ! Hi Sebastian !The new 10° Automatic Switches in XTRACKS-10 overwrite the old ones, but Okrasa did not include the MANUAL version as well.Until they are supplied in the next version of XTRACKS and with a bit of luck new improved versions of other most used ones, you can COPY the A1tPnt10dLft/Rgt.s over the A1tPnt10dLft/RgtMnl.s. You are going to lose the Manual Switch Lever that way, but who cares ! Take Care, O t t o.

Otto, did you look in the XTracks documentation?
Teemu V is listed as one of the contibutors and he is a regular at this forum (http://www.train-sim.com/cgi/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=user_profiles&user=tvrail).
Fine tuning the animation of switches is a little tricky and explains these small problems. I have to say though that you will need to look real close to see some of the things you are complaining about. I know Teemu is considering working on replacements for the other standard switches also but we will see about that.Sebastian, they ARE replacements for the default shapes though only available through the XTracks package at the moment.

Thanks Oki !Could not remember the name in relation to these improvements.Having been a programmer for many years now and also extensively working with Model Railway Tracks and Switches for most of my adult life, I sort of developed a keen sense of paying attention to detail, without which most of what I am producing would not work.I am not one for shutting my eyes, pretending not to see what I am looking at ! Hello all(sorry for the late reply, I was away)I'm the guy who "mashed up" those new 10-degree switches.I'm glad if you liked those. Just to let you know that I am working with further fine-tuning:
- the curved rail ends do not align properly
- blades do not line up properly
- blade vs. stock rail gap is too wide (that's something to discuss actually...)I'm working with the gawd-so-ugly TSM, it is a royal PITA trying to make up something you need to have a close-up view with.Coming up in the 5-degree replacements: swing-nose frogs (new shape!)Also cooking up a replacement for the 2.5-degree switch.Cheers,

Glad you noticed this Thread, Teemu ! Tried to send you E-Mail like Okrasa suggested, using your message's "Click to E-Mail" Icon but got it returned "Unable to deliver" !Hope you don't take my suggestions as criticism ! Knowing from Okrasa and Roman how difficult it is to get the Graphics just right, any effort of yours to further improve the appearance of your amendments and new ones will be appreciated by this here Tracks and Switches Freak and I dare say by others too ?! As for the wide gap between the switch blades and stock rail, also wide in Roman's but just stopping short of coming off their base slider plates, if that is what they are called, your's could do with reducing their animation rotation by a shade ? Increasing the rotation of the other one to touch the stock rail could be done at the same time ?Looking forward to more from you, Take Care, O t t o.

Hi Tim !They are from my collection of Track beds and rails borrowed from various Routes. I can never understand why some still use those awful looking square and chunky MSTS default rails ?
