In working on the megapack of farmhouses, I have run across a design problem when making a mirrored image of a structure. See if you can spot the problem in the pics below.Any ideas on a quick fix?SRV Ron
I see the "problem" with the windows. You never should have said anything and nobody would notice. As for the roof, I don't see the problem. Not sure how you created the mirror version. Did you first join all parts into one and then mirror the composite structure. If so, then what might have happened is the texture orientation failed to reverse with the structure. Take a look at the texture properties and see if there is anything backward or rotated in the orientation window.Without trying it myself, that's the best I can offer.Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, OR (My email is in my profile)Columbia Gorge Route (Phase 2-- Started)
I use the Transform, Flip x command to turn the house into a mirrored design of the original. All the textures are reversed as they should be. However, they also flipped upside down, which shouldn't have happened.Occasionally, I have had all of the polys get flipped inside although one can go into poly mode and flip them back out."Take a look at the texture properties and see if there is anything backward or rotated in the orientation window." All points are rotated 180* Would take forever to rotate just the window polys back."You never should have said anything and nobody would notice." Some prople hang lace drapes on the lower half of a window. But, it may be noticsble on one structure where you can see the sofa and TV through one of the window. The roof texture and foundation textures are flipped upside down, it is not noticable unless you compare it to the original. What I will do when doing future houses that I want to mirror is to remove the windows, flip the house, and place them back.SRV Ron
Ron, here is a thought. If you are doing mirrored structures, try doing the transform x BEFORE applying textures. It might work.Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, OR (My email is in my profile)Columbia Gorge Route (Phase 2-- Started)
Unfortunely, the models are made up of textured components. I may just have to place windows last, create the object, remove windows, transform x the structure, place windows.I've ran into the same problem with bridges with offset truss textures in the few cases where I mirrored trusses instead of rotating copies.SRV Ron
