Hi all Y-TRACKS Fans and users !With Roman's permission if am making the latest versions of his Y-TRACKS SWITCHES I am BETA testing available at:www.otto-wipfel.co.uk/downloads/y-tracks.zipIt includes my Double-Slips Tutorial, many pictures examples of what the new all-working 3-Way switches look like, albeit not fully textured yet but functioning as they should and many layout configurations scenes showing how they could be used, most of them supplied by Roman !You may want to experiment with them in the run-up to the final release ! The included TSection.dat is the latest version to cover them, but BACK-UP the one you are using first, just in case !MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INCLUDED MUST-READ.rtf !HAVE FUN, I am !

RE: For Y-TRACKS Fans and Users

Hi Tracks Fans !Seems that interest in further developments of MSTS-1 is diminishing, apart from those already working on Routes nearing completion, too late to take advantage of these fabulous Switches. So here is what you are missing, with more to come ! RE: For Y-TRACKS Fans and Users

I think there is interest, but people are put
off by the juggling of the tsection.dat involved.
Is there some reason these sections haven't had a
block of index numbers assigned?Lloyd

RE: For Y-TRACKS Fans and Users

Hi,they have a block assigned. Have a look in tsection.dat
It was reserved for more than a year, and now it is used.
To avoid trouble simply use the provided tsection.dat v23 which comes along with the package. There were never ytracks in public use before, so there is definitly no harm.Roman

RE: For Y-TRACKS Fans and Users

LAST EDITED ON May-07-04 AT 05:57 PM (EDT)

Lloyd, the TSection.dat which comes with my Download is a Build 00023 with all the latest Y-Track items supplied pre-listed in it, to be part of Build 00024 when it is being released and works with all other previous track sections listed in the original Build 00023 which was released with XTracks-10. No need to "Juggle" with the TSection.dat ! The reference in my Y-Tracks MUST-READ.rtf about possibly having to do that has been removed as it concerned only Eduardo and me, BETA testing pieces which were not in the general opening release and are not in my Download either, having been withdrawn.I have been using Y-Tracks since the first piece was available and had no problems with them nor the TSection.dat updates supplied. You are not going to get any complaints from the RE unless you want to use a track piece listed under "Track Sections" which is not in GLOBAL\SHAPES such as the 0_2 metre straight. Those wanting to try Y-Tracks must make sure that the Ycleantrack1 & 2.ace are placed into the Route's TEXTURES folder or copy the existing Acleantrack1 & 2.ace to Ycleantrack1 & 2.ace to make sure that all tracks feature the same textures.O t t oP.S.: SNAP ! Didn't see Roman's message saying more or less the same !

Otto, can't speak for anyone else, but I'm looking at those and thinking how nice most of my 'year 2001' crossovers (and track schematic in general), would look redone with the addition of YTracks. I don't think interest is necessarily diminishing, I think a lot of it is re-assessing what we have and what we need to do. ADFRRV4 ought to look (and behave) rather 'spicey' with some of these new additions RobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com

RE: For Y-TRACKS Fans and Users

Hang on a while, Bob, Roman has got quite a few more tricks up his sleeve, after solving the problem of making 2 Switches in a 3-Way configuration work independently as they should and make the Double-Slips F8 indicators show what they are supposed to !As soon as I get more from him, it will be on my site and announced here ! I don't know whether you noticed Okrasa saying that he forgot to give the MANUAL 10d Switches the same new looks as the AUTOMATIC ones in the XTracks-10. Copy the A1tPnt10dLft.s to A1tPnt10dLftMnl.s and you got new look Switches everywhere. Beautiful ! Ditto with the Right ones. Yes there is still is interest in developing MSTS further, but on a diminishing scale. Some of us just refusing to give up to have FUN with it without having to learn a whole new ball game ! Take Care, O t t o.P.S.: The Internet is crawling again here in the U.K., the weather not all that good, everybody sitting at home using it ! Took over a minute to just get this message "Previewed". I hear from others that BROADBAND is slowing down too !
