What causes this alpha mix-up(or whatever it is)? Or is it just too many polys? The green bridge should be entirely visible, as it was right after this shot.Next two pictures show the N&W "loop" at FW, and the partially removed N&W draw (on the left)

RE: New Buffalo route shots (and of course a problem)
Looks like a bounding box problem which causes the bridge to vanish on certain closeup angles. Apparently, MSTS default objects are not exempt from such display error.SRV Ron
RE: New Buffalo route shots (and of course a problem)
I have noticed that Kujo default objects, like bridges, are designed to break down into simple objects way short of the 2000 meter limit. Things like the piers vanish quickly. Their large grain elevator complex loses its conveyer belt building on the top of the silos in only a short distance. No doubt, it was done to ease graphic requirments on older systems some time ago.Time to dump default objects for that very reason.SRV Ron
RE: New Buffalo route shots (and of course a problem)
enocell, would it be possible for you to send me the track texture from that route. I like the wat it looks. If you could would you let me know. Thank you. Good looking route.
RE: New Buffalo route shots (and of course a problem)
Two possibilities I can think of.ESD_Detail_Level in SD file set too high. According to the shape data file TechDoc, "An object’s detail level is how train simulator decides whether to load the shape. Objects with a detail level higher than the current setting will be excluded, so set this to 0 for things like bridges supporting track that should always be loaded and anything up to 10 for trees and other details depending on how important you deem them. Note that this can be set, per object, in the route editor and this will override the setting here."dlevel_selection in S file set too low. There is at least one instance of this parameter in the shape file, depending on the number of LODs. Its argument, which is distance from the camera, is used to determine whether the object, or parts of the object, will be drawn or not.Rick(I encountered an error when I posted this the first time, so my apologies if it appears twice)
