Colleagues,It is late in the steam season on the NP (or maybe they borrowed that SP&S-700 and did a paint job? Unfortunately, the superintendent discovered tonight that: a. There were some HOT boxcars in the yard that needed forwarding to Seattle like yesterday. & b. All his F-7s were tied up elsewhere, so he commandeered this 4-8-4, and threatened to fire the crew on the spot if they didn't accept it and go. This was a few hours back, in Missoula. They have stopped, holding the main at St.Regis, while a eastbound pulled around them through the siding, & now the <signal> has cleared. By the way, this line had all Semaphore signals until the past few years, and so I will use exclusively Semaphores on the "Low Grade" line. The junction at Paradise will have a power switch and be "interlocked", but in this Sim. the line over Evaro Hill will only extend 2 or 3 miles. I am providing a reasonable facsimile of the yard at Paradise though, which appears in aerials to have 6-9 tracks. Donlon siding has been removed, but remains in this sim. as well as Toole, and Quinns. NP (or MRL) fans should get their kicks out of this sim. as well as Milwaukee Rd. folks.J. H. Sullivan
Looking good! Keep up the great work!I just finished my tour of RMD-2 this morning. Now I'm convinced I'm going to have to get a bunch of MILW power to run around on it Shawn
Shawn,There is a wealth of stuff in the library. If you do a search on all categories for "Milwaukee", you will find something in the order of 200 entries, and only a few are irrelevant.I would suggest though, GEt the BiPolar, and then go to the fellow's German website & get the corrected cabview. Download all of Tim Muir's Box Cabs - they are great. Then Download the Olympian HI which is about 20M. The Obs. car has a defect in it's rear truck, but it does not affect operation, just appearance. It comes with the FM diesels, but I use the BiPolar. I am hoping someone will come out with a "Quill" and a "Little Joe", but from where I sit, it is a lot harder to produce a piece of rolling stock, than it is to create a route. You can also download the North Coast Ltd. It is a great item, and quite correct for running over HomeStake Pass. You can also set up AI with it, so that the Milwaukee and NP will pass in places like the Jefferson Canyon. However, be aware that Sappington & Sinclair ARE NOT INTERLOCKED, so collision is possible at those level crossings.Jerry
Shawn,Just in the Sim. In the early days, there were towers at both locations, and later automatic interlockings, i.e. first one to get there got a clear signal.MSTS, among other shortcomings, does not allow for interlocking crossings of different routes, only ends of double track etc. There are interlocking signals at both locations, but they just behave as extra block signals.Jerry
