If you are missing ace-files they are in the route builder package as outlined in the documentation. I think this is your problem.I did a thorough test of the installer on a clean MSTS installation before uploading to make sure there was no missing s & sd files.

Those shapes are NOT XTracks shapes which explains 'No extended Shape data error'.
The textures as I said are in the route builders extras package which is right under your eyes when you downloaded the standard XTracks installation (aka File Library). Did you not notice there were three different XTracks files you could download?

RE: Problems with Xtracks 3.10

OKI,Slipped that one in on the quiet ! Seems mainly CONCRETE Tracks you have added ?STEVEN,If you get messages about "Missing Shapes", trying to select Track Pieces in the Route Editor then that is because you have not got them !The 0_2m straight track piece is part of a range of Tracks created by Dietmar Jülich who has disappeared and his Track Pieces should have been taken out of the Tsection.dat a long time ago to stop them showing in the Track Sections list in the RE.You do not need Track Shapes ACE Files with Xtracks, Ytracks, Dtracks or any other ! Just COPY / PASTE all in the UNZIPPED GLOBAL Folder to the correct MSTS Folder of the same name, including the Tsection.dat and that is all there is to it ! Unless you have downloaded the Self-Extracting and Installing version, which should do the afore mentioned for you !The only ACE Files needed by Tracks are Acleantrack1.ace, Trackbeds and Acleantrack2.ace Rails, to be found in the Routes TEXTURES Folders.O t t o

> Could I edit the Tsection.dat to remove those missing files ?? No point in doing that, the next update of the Tsection.dat will replace them ! Just ignore what you can not use, unless you can Download the missing pieces from somewhere !Where did these CONCRETE Tracks come from ? They are part of the latest version of Xtracks ! O t t o

RE: Problems with Xtracks 3.10

Download Route-Riter from this site, under MSTS Utils there is a button 'Make tsection.dat'What this does is to make a backup of your existing tsection.dat file, then go through all the shape files in your Global\Shapes folder and produce a new tsection.dat file which only includes the existing shapes. Then when you use the Route Editor, you will not get complaints about missing files.Mike

Unpublished shapes, sure, edit the tsection. But if the file has been released it should never be pulled from the tsection file cuz somebody, somewhere, will still be using it.Can someone who knows exactly what happened comment on this please?Dave NelsonBack to lurking. Dave,if you want to use these Tracks in a Route and the RE Track Sections Selector tells you that you have not got them then what do you do ?You try to find out where to Download them from !In the case of these Shapes a futile attempt, because the guy has disappeared ! If a Route is still using them and you got their SHAPES in GLOBAL\SHAPES then it makes no difference whether they are listed in the Tsection.dat or not ! That one only tells you about the Range of Track Shapes available for using when creating a Route, providing of course that you have got all the Track Shapes Files listed in it as well ! O t t o

The ace files go into your routes texture folder (don't you read readme's?).Getting rid of the no extended shape data error is either a question of not selecting those shapes or follow Mikes advice and use RouteRiter. I would not recommend editing the tsection.dat yourself, it's to easy making a fatal misstake that crashes MSTS.Otto, the a1t0_2mStrt should NOT be removed from the tsection.dat cause it has been released and some are using it. The fact you can't find a site to download it does not mean it's gone from the surface of earth and not used by anyone anywhere. Dave is absolutely correct in his observation.
It's not just new concrete shapes in this release, quite a few 1d curves of varius sizes and a few other sections also. Check the documentation.

RE: Problems with Xtracks 3.10

Sorry Oki for disagreeing with you on that one ! If a guy has a Route which has used one of these Track Pieces and he has got their SHAPE Files in GLOBAL\SHAPES then it makes no difference whether it is still listed in the Tsection.dat or not. That one only tells you what you could use when creating a Route, providing of course that you have got all the associated Shapes listed in it in GLOBAL\SHAPES also.Correct me if I am wrong !O t t o

RE: Problems with Xtracks 3.10

Otto,Without testing that specific scenario, I think you're wrong. I say this because it is provable that when starting the sim, the program reads the \global\tsection.dat file and compares it against the track database of ALL routes (this happens before you are offered the chance to select a route) and certain inconsistencies can cause the whole thing to crash to a halt.David Beach.Palouse & LewistonProblems with Xtracks 3.10 – image 9

Standardized \global\tsection.dat file now at build00023.

RE: Problems with Xtracks 3.10

You are right, David !I don't know why I applied logic thinking there, this being MSTS , assuming that once a Track Piece has been added to a WORLD File and recorded in the Tracks Database the Global Tsection.dat should not be needed.Testing the Original one with a Route which uses additional Xtracks for instance does not work. Therefore a Route using A1t0_2mstrt section would also not if they are not listed in the Tsection.dat, as Okrasa pointed out.But MSTS does not complain about Track Shapes in the Tsection.dat which are not in the GLOBAL\SHAPES Folder. The only alternative to remove those sections so that they do not show in the ROUTE EDITOR is ROUTE RITER, but having to do it again after every Update of the Tsection.dat which will still contain these pieces ! Yes David, the Tsection.dat has come a long way, from the original 153 KB to the present 2264 KB, having no doubt given Okrasa and you a lot of work during it's growth ! Means that we can now enjoy 14 ½ times more Tracks than came with MSTS and ALL FOR FREE ! As for Routes, I do not want to attempt counting how many FREE ADD-ONs have been made available since the launch of MSTS-1. Must go into 3 digits by now !CHEERS, O t t o

RE: Problems with Xtracks 3.10

Hi Otto !!This 0_2m piece is indeed used by SEVERAL enjoyable Routes !
Denmark, Dzialdowo-Brodnica, Sicilia1 and others.
Removing it from tsection.dat would ruin these routes.
BTW, who wants to use it finds it in the aforementioned routes.Or Route builders should do as Mike suggests, as simple as that.
Love and Peace
