Just a simple appeal to everyone who's uploaded or planning to upload a new route. Please use the Route Specification Fourm! It's a great way for everyone to see what's available, plan what they want to download, examine the details. The little bit of extra work makes your route so much more accessible to end users. And sadly, it's not been much used of late. The most recent post there is Cal's Columbia Gorge, on February 2. Folks, we're in the golden age of route building! Incredible stuff is being uploaded all the time. Please use this simple forum to promote your creation. And, contrary to some impressions, the forum is for payware, too. If our Route Specification Forum could become a very complete listing of all the great routes being made these days, it would be a hugely valuable, and a shining star displaying the great accomplishments of the Train Sim community. Please, route-builders! Put some posts in there! Let's show what we've got!Jeff
Just a bump-ity to agree with this post and wish a few of the latter 'published authors' would add theirs to the forum. For what little it is worth, I had as many or more hits from my listing on that page than any other referrals. People do look at it and would hate to deprive some of them of the knowledge of what good choices there are out there at the present time. RobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com
Jeff, Are you saying to post routes in progress? If so, that could be a bad thing. My route for example, I thought would be out two years ago and it still isn't ready to post. The problem is that it is very easy to understimate the amount of work involved! Probably would be OK to list it when it goes out to beta testing though. That would mean that the end is definitely close.Larry
Larry, one of the requirements to be posted is that it has to already be available (by download or CD), either freeware or shareware as a 'posted' route. However, what we were referring to was that there are quite a few good routes that have come out lately that have no entry and the people who do not come in here often (shame on them) may not even be aware of them. I do know quite a few individuals that have set it on their favorites to be warned when anything new is added. I guess it's just good free publicity for both TS.com and the route itself.RobertR .. As one who doesn't have time to visit the forums daily, the tendency for route builders to not use the Route Specification Forum any more has meant that I've been blissfully unaware of quite a few new routes in recent months.I used to use the Route Specification Forum to quickly check if any new routes had been finished, but now have to spent much longer trawling through several different forums to see if I've missed anything.Unfortunately not everybody has the time or inclination to spend ages each day checking though multiple forums to keep up to date.Alanhttp://www.blackpooltrams.com
