Hello group,
I forgot to mention in the readme file that the latest version of xtracks and tsection.dat needs to be installed to use this route. Also make sure you leave the check box checked on the last screen of the installer. It says to leave the box check to start the P&WV Route after the install is complete. It does not start the route, it actually copies files from other routes into the P&WV route directory. As a last step, I recommend running Route Riter, found in the file library, to insure everything is OK with the route. I wish to thank Kevin on the heads up and I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.Take care,
Rich S.

Hello Kevin,
Starting the thread was a good thing. I was not aware there were any problems with the route. This way we can group all the problems together on the same thread. Let me know if you run into any more signal problems. Before I uploaded the route, I made some simple activities to check the signals and everything seemed to work great.Take care,
Rich S.

RE: P&WV Route NOTICE

Rich, the activity I am working on, when you pick up the first cut on Rook Yard West, track two, when you pull ahead, the drawf signal before you get on the main will turn red right as I get to it, got to be quick with the tab or you get nailed. I don't know if it is the activity or the route.Kevin Arceneaux

RE: P&WV Route NOTICE

Hi Richard,The only errors i encountered were the GMO_GSVCPole_4B,
GMO_GSV_Relay_Cab.ace,and the blank.ace.I looked in the textures folder and found they were not there.Just thought i'd let ya know.Any ideas on how i can fix it?If the blank .ace is the one i think it is(transparent texture file),then i have it,and i do have the original GM&O route by Paul.

RE: P&WV Route NOTICE

SD80MAC,
Do you have Windows Xp? For some unknown reason the installer does not seem to be adding all the files. Yes you can copy the files from the GM&O route to replace the missing files that installer did not add. Let me know if you run into any other problems and sorry about the missing files.Take care,
Rich S.

RE: P&WV Route NOTICE

FYI, on my version of XP, the PATH does not include the directory for windows/system32, so I've been changing the install.bat's "xcopy" to read "c:\windows\system32\xcopy".You would think it would be easier to correct the PATH registery then all the *.bat's.Bill

RE: P&WV Route NOTICE

You can fix your path permanently by running regedt32 and navigating down to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment

There you will find an entry called Path. You can edit it to add the missing parts. As an example, mine has the following value:

%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adaptec Shared\System;C:\PROGRA~1\ULTRAE~1;C:\Program Files\AliasWavefront\Maya 4 Personal Learning Edition\bin;C:\Program Files\MSSQL7\BINN

RE: P&WV Route NOTICE

I have XP and I can't get the files to load, either. I also have an error that loadr3.s isn't there. I have spent a couple of hours downloading and installing rolling stock, some of which having really poor instructions, but I managed to get to a point (after loading and going through all of the error messages about 20 times) where the same messages were there and I was not able to locate the files. I see GM&O mentioned but it must be under a different name because a search for GM&O route turns up nothing. As far as going into the Registry, I'll pass. That can lead to real problems if it is not exactly right. Is there a way to get these files in a patch, or use a better install program? I would really like to try the route but I am getting tired of starting the route, reading error messages, and exiting to try it again. It is really frustrating and I am sure not intentional.DP

RE: P&WV Route NOTICE

DP,
If the installme.bat file did not run as part of the install process, go to the P&WV folder, double click on the installme.bat. The only other problem you might have is the missing blank.ace file. I'm attaching it to this post. If you cannot find it in the P&WV\TEXTURE folder, just download this file to a temp folder, unzip it and copy the blank.ace file to the P&WV\TEXTURE folder.Take Care,
Rich S.

RE: P&WV Route NOTICE

Thanks for the fast reply. I did find the other discussion and I got the message that the blank.ace file seems to be the key. I copied the one from the SNOW folder and SHAZAM, it works! The only weird thing, and it has nothing to do with the route, is the caboose is NW518573 and the cupalo has to be NW518605.

RE: P&WV Route NOTICE

The missing .ace file should be in the USA1\Texture folder. I sent you an email with the missing files attached in case for some reason the file is not in your USA1 folder.Take care,
Rich S.
