I deleted several track sections around a track and then hit H so that the track would be level with the terrain-before it was way below it. When I look at it when it is on my new DEM terrain, it is about 100ft away from the marker it used to be just on. Should I just move all the track as well as raise it?Thanks! METRAUP

Once a marker is in place, it doesn't move. The marker simply shows a Latitude/Longitude location and has nothing to do with elevation. When you hit the "H" key, all it did is move the track piece VERTICALLY. If you get directly over the marker, does the track section line up? Is it possible, your're looking at the wrong track section or that a marker somehow got deleted? There are several possibilities but they don't include the scenario you describe.Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, OR (My email is in my profile)Columbia Gorge Route (Phase 1 UP side 95%, BNSF side 90%)
David - sometimes the markers spontaneously shift in the RE. I don't know what causes this - I've seen it happen when I'm working with terrain and track, and when I'm placing structures. For whatever reason, the entire set of markers shift together, and it can be in any direction, including up or down. The amount and direction of the shift seems to be somewhat random, although they always seem to remain within sight. 'Tis a wonderment indeed. The only way to get them back to their original position is to exit the RE and crank it up again. I've never needed a complete reboot, though.Andy
I think the markers shift then you select Tile mode if you know what I mean.http://groups.msn.com/MSTSNarrowGauge Jonathan Lewis jonathanmlewis@msn.com
I see that the markers shift when making long stretches of track/road and moving across several tiles. I then change the start tile and continue. The markers always swing away when I cross the blue line.
When I bring up the terrain selection grid the markers get trashed. Its been that way on my machine from the gitgo. Restart the RE and don't change tile textures, Set floor and ceiling hts, set error bias etc. while laying track.
Crossing a tile boundary (the blue lines) in F7 mode will shift the markers - every time. And thats the only thing which will do it. (so just switch back to F2 before crossing a boundary, then switch again afterwards).
