Hello, I want to design a route, and I don't know where to begin, and I forgot how to do the stuff in Route Geometry Extractor. Can someone give me a few tips or some basic instructions, or even a link to them.Edit: Oh wait, I know: backup every 10 mins! Thanks in advance. Kurtis

Get Michael Vone's excellent "Step-by-Step Guide to Route Building" available from Abacus for $20. This is the single best investment you will make in your quest for the perfect route. It is a 400-page book covering all aspects of route building. There is a tutorial which takes you "step-by-step" through the construction of a small route and adding scenery to it. When you finish that (takes about two days), you'll be ready to try your own route. Start small. Don't try to do that Behemoth route as your first project.Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, OR (My email is in my profile)Columbia Gorge Route (Phase 1 UP side 95%, BNSF side 90%)
I got it, and I'm to the grade crossing part, but, I keep trying to place it but it doesen't go in the right place, so when I hit F2 and click to check it, then when I try to correct it, it moves to the original spot and there is no marking for where the rail grooves are. Man, this is easier than I thought up to this point...:/
I have to support the advice offered about the Guide to Route Building. Best $20 ever spent. Microsoft should bundle with the new release. The book will save you lot's of aggrevation and you will even have "fun" building your route.HenryL "necrails"
Unfortunately, Michael's book, in it's present form, will probably be worthless for MSTS2. Hopefully, Michael can get a new one out quickly.Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, OR (My email is in my profile)Columbia Gorge Route (Phase 1 UP side 95%, BNSF side 90%)
