Dem-Ex program problem – image 1

OK, I have gone back and forth on this alot. I have decided to use DEM now. I did this because I have begun to notive just how much things curve on the flatlands. Well, the way things are going, I might not.I have the un-registered version. I've made DEM a few times. Well, this time I first selected my route. Then, I opened a DEM file. I could open it, but then my route tiles disappeared. I then hit file | Merge Dem. I selected the file to merge, and then the first file dissappeared! I cannot get the route tiles, the first DEM, and the Merge Dem to appear at once, although I got two of the three to appear at once (the route tiles and the first DEM, for instance).I thought, maybe reinstall! Well, I uninstalled DEMEX, and then hit the EXE to install. What do I know? When I hit the EXE, this Winzip File Extractor window appears, so I click to begin installation. A quick box showing files being transfered appears, and then disappears. The Winzip File Extractor window is there again, this time the Install button being grayed out. When I exit, it says that /install.eze is still running, but I don't see it and nothing installs. I checked taskmanager, and it didn't show it either. Thanks!

RE: Dem-Ex program problem

This might sound stupid, but try rebooting your computer and then re-running the install program. If any bits get left in the RAM, or any tags left in the registry when you uninstalled, that could screw up the re-install unless you reboot before you reinstall.Shawn

That doesn't sound stupid at all! I re-booted it, and it worked!Yes, David Beach, I did know that it had to be from the same area. I got it to work, however, even though it didn't show the tiles in DEM-EX (I think if I could figure out how to scroll around it might show them?)Thanks!
