Can't delete – image 1

I placed one of those static traffic signal over-the-road supports, and NOW i can't select them to remove them. Is there a way around this?-------------Can't delete – image 2

RE: Can't delete

If it's a static object, there shouldn't be a problem. Sometimes the default base height is underground tho, so try hitting W to bring up wire frame mode, then move the cursor around the bottom. Go at it from different angles too, tall skinny objects like telephone poles are sometimes difficult to hit the right spot.

RE: Can't delete

Some objects don't clearly show that they are selected either! Check your tool windows to see if you're reading XYZ coordinates of an object. This will show you if you've got it.... I discovered this on some buildings several months ago. Same thing happens on signal diamonds (the red placement markers)....it's hard to tell if you've got your cursor on them when they light up only a little brighter than their static color....JBD

RE: Can't delete

John,Locate the .s file for the object and expand it into a unicode file.Open it up with a unicode capable editor, and look for entries near the top that look like this:
volumes ( 1
vol_sphere (
vector ( 0.915767 0.659661 0.898924 ) 0.376147
)
)
For each vector entry, make sure that the last number on the line (0.376147 in this example) is at least 110% of the largest value inside the parens of that line. Estimates are ok.In this example, I would make the following change:
volumes ( 1
vol_sphere (
vector ( 0.915767 0.659661 0.898924 ) 1.0
)
)
Give that a try, and restart the RE and you should be able to select it OK.Martyn T. Griffin

RE: Can't delete

Martyns method makes the most sense to fix the problem longer termthere are 2 other things you could also try - press the '/' key and try to come at/select the object from below the surface - sometimes that works better,if still no luck look in the tile world file - ie get the coordinates from the route editor of the tile the object is in, and then in wordpad open the corresponding .w file from the world folder. look for the static object with the name of the .s file in it and delete the whole entry. beware - if there are multiple entries of that object u need to find the right one to deleteeg an entry in the world file for a static file looks like this Static (
UiD ( 3582 )
FileName ( 0BushLnA125.s )
Position ( -349.517 1 157.812 )
QDirection ( 0 0 0 1 )
VDbId ( 4294967295 )
)If the object was added most recently in RE the entry should be at the bottom of the world file. also u can try to match up the position coordinates.good luck & let us know how u go
