After a couple of years away from route development, hard drive crash & health reasons, I am attempting to get back into route development. However at one point in time I did have a NO CD patch to eliminate inserting. Have looked all over and am unable to locate this patch/hack. Was wondering if anyone knows of its existence and where it might be or am I doomed to the insert CD before play and/or route building.Thank you all for all of the contributions in furthering along this sim.Rick
Hi Rick, Try this URL.http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;228985 When the support page comes up,type in 228985 in the search field. Hope this solves your problem. My Computer specs are in my profile Mike "
Mike -- Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, this link will not work as they are requiring the use of a CD insert. I do not intend to "pirate the software" as I just recently went and bought the latest release. Was waiting for MSTS 2 to be released but that appears to be sometime in the future. I could have sworn that I downloaded the "patch" from this site, but could possibly be wrong. I did at one time have a so called patch to eliminate the inserting of CD to use the software, which made it nice.Again thanks for your response, apparently this has been far removed no longer to be seen.Rick
I've never had to insert the CD to run the sim or the editors. Do you have a full install? If so, and you get the "No CD present" error message, it is because you used your CD drive (for anything) and have not rebooted before trying to run MSTS. When I get that, I usually just hit "continue" and then it goes through.Shawn
