I'm trying to build the White Pass and Yukon Route in the route editor. I made about 52 tiles for it, then used a demo version of DEMEX to add terrain as far as I could. I have terrain most of the way to White Pass Summit, the end point for the portion I'm building. I made a copy before using DEMEX, then made a copy afterwards. I built only a few track pieces- the RR Dock and a short track heading off of it. I have no track beyond one of the turnouts, ie no blue bar beyond a red bar. When I try to run the route, it brings up send/don't send message. Do I need to lay track beyond the switch? Any other possible problems? I've had similar problems before which might also be switch problems. Please DO NOT post unneccessary posts here about how much you want this route. My modem is 26,400 bps, and DEMEX is just a demo version. I won't pay $20 to spend hours uploading a route that I want to make as a "gift for myself."Thank you Joel Lefever
Shawn is right about the switch. And there is nothing anywhere which says you can't upload tiles created with an unregistered version of DEMEX - you just can't sell it.
Thought it said no in the readme. Maybe not. Actually, I wrote the switch part in the message the instant I thought about it, then immediately went to the RE, fixed it, and it worked. I now have about two miles in place. Sorry I can't upload it, my modem's not good enough anyhow. I'm now working on some locos, too- both a GE, Alco, and the #73. Coaches are done. Thanks Joel Lefever
If you put the route though the Route Riter it will reduce the size a lot.You should be able to get it under 20MB.http://groups.msn.com/MSTSNarrowGauge Jonathan Lewis jonathanmlewis@msn.com
Joel, when you get the route done, if you want to send it to me on a CD, I'd be happy to upload it for you. I would also like very much to see it since I road the WP&Y excursion train last year. It only went as far as the Canadian border and then headed back. I don't know how far that is from White Pass.Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, OR Columbia Gorge Route (Phase 1 UP side 95%, BNSF side 90%)
