RE: Where can I get stuffitpack?

I think what you are trying to find is: stuffit.bat which is a file that is included when you install routes that you have downloaded. You must run the file, which is a DOS file, in the route that you want it to manipulate. The file will xcopy various files from the original six routes included with MSTS. In most cases you must have all six origninal routes loaded for stuffit.bat to work.Chances are that if you have downloaded a route and copied it over to your Trainsim's route folder, then the file stuffit.bat will probably be listed amount the files in the route folder that you installed. If not use Search and see if it is on your computer already. If so, copy the file over to the route folder you installed and double click the file. It will run automatically from that point on.Bob Edwards

I copied all files from another track but the objects didn't appear in editor anyway :/

RE: Where can I get stuffitpack?

You can't just copy the objects. If you are doing this manually, you need to do several things:1. copy the shape files (*.s & *.sd)
2. copy all of the textures (*.ace)
3. add all of these objects to your route's .ref fileStuffit does this all automatically and is the route I would recommend going as one little typo in the .ref file and you won't be going anywhere. As for logging in to the file library, yeah, it is a pain sometimes, but just keep trying. When I couldn't get in, I'd just keep hitting refresh repeatedly until I got in. And usually it only took about 5 minutes or so - or just break down like I did and pay the $30. It takes a lot of work and expensive equipment to run a server big enough to hold all the stuff that we throw at it, and the bandwidth is expensive too. If you'd like this resource to stay here, you may as well contribute to it.Shawn

RE: Where can I get stuffitpack?

Stuffitpack isn't in the file library, it was never uploaded as a seperate utility. Problem was it was still in beta when Route Riter came out. Route Riter won't automatically add all default objects to a route, but it has many other utilities and made all the packaging and distribution tools in stuffitpack obsolete. The last version of stuffitpack2a is included with Route Riter, or you can download it seperately here;http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d7f41c5199c3094.zipHmmm, Mike Simpson, another idea, how about an autoinstall utility for stuffitpack? Run EZstuff4 and rename the ref file at the click of a button?

RE: Where can I get stuffitpack?

Yeah, that just popped into my empty head, I do a lot of thinking out loud with the keyboard. In fact you could lose EZstuff4.bat completely, just have RR do all the copying. I explained carefully the process of deleting the existing .ref file for the route and copying stuffit.ref into the route's main folder, then renaming it to replace the ref file just deleted, but some people still don't get that. Having RR do that automatically would eliminate that complication.
Hee-hee, I know what you're thinking, anyone that has trouble understanding simple file movements and renaming is gonna have serious trouble with the route editor. But I get kickbacks from the mental health industry, so that means more cash for me when the RE drives them schizo!

RE: Where can I get stuffitpack?

Hi Jim,Yep, got it working, couple of improvements still to make, but should have it up by this weekend, I have to remember to convert the .ref file to Unicode.New feature will be an option to replace any .s file in a route's world files with any other .s file. I used it to replace all the gantries in a route, pretty handy, even works if the .w files are compressed.Mike
