I've been making some custom objects for my route project, but everything I've built and integrated into my route likes to disappear when I get close to it.
These objects were created with TSM (if that matters), and for right now I'm just texturing everything I build in blank.ace and once I get some good photos with which to make textures from, these objects will have a better look.
These are fairly big objects, btw... 50m long in one dimension.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

RE: Custom objects disappear when I view them close up.

Have no idea how you adjust this from within TSM, but you can alter the resulting shape file to fix it.First, make sure that the .s file is expanded into a unicode text file so it can be editted.Near the top of the file you will find one or more vol_sphere entries that look something like this:

vol_sphere (
vector ( 0.0092603 183.516 0.102753 ) 210.258
)
vol_sphere (
vector ( 0.0092603 183.516 0.102753 ) 200.246
)
)
Make sure that the last number on the vector line, after the closing parens, is set at a value that is at least 110% of the largest of the three values inside the parens. Exact values are not critical.
For example, in the entries above, I could have specified a value of 221.309 instead of 210.258 and it would have done the job.

In TSM, make sure the object is "centered to origin". Then move the entire object up until the base is lined up with the x axis. Save and recreate the TS object. This should solve the problem.Cal Rasmussen

And , if for some reason the object's center needs to be offset from the origin, like with some catenary supports that need to be centered on the track center-line, you can add a small bee-sized single poly part equi-distant from the furthest extremity of your object.Custom objects disappear when I view them close up – image 4
