This is a bigtime cattle ranching area, and I needed cows, lots of cows. Got to thinkin, and decided to use the Jp2Billboardtree1 and 3 shapes, and build a herd of cattle! SVRy means Timber, Gold, & CATTLE, Billboard Cattle – image 1 Here's another look including from the RE. It would really be a chore and a frame rate killer to place the stock (pun intended) cows that came with the sim!With a big herd on 1, and scattered cows on the other, they look pretty good, as long as they are a couple hundred feet back from the tracks. A couple or three 3D cows placed closer, and the herd is done, except for sound and the lovely odor!I'll try to get the 36" gauge rr crossing planks and these uploaded in the next week.

You sure can work wonders with the materials at hand. I would really like to see what you could do with TSM or 3DC. The herd of cows -is that made from a photo you took? Yep, the herd was 500 feet from the McEwen end of the operating portion of the SVRy. Took a bunch of pix, cut them out with the freeform selection tool in PSP. It was very appropriate, and gave my wife and I a chuckle, the tool is a lasso and we used it to sparate out cattle!

You could, but............. It would have to be in the car spawner.dat, which would mean that it would appear in the string with all other cars on any road on the route. ICKY roads, drive through, splat, splat, splat, free undercoating for your cars!Unless they are spooked, cows don't move much except when young, so animated cows probably aren't worth it!

It would be amusing to see cows doin 65mph down the road followed by a car. I can hear the sounds outside the cab now," mooo...beep...beep...beep...mooo." Unless they are spooked, cows don't move much except when young, so animated cows probably aren't worth it!Generally a train makes enough noise to startle a cow. Well it was a thought.Thanks for explaining this.

It's a Jon Davis engine, and I'm just finishing up the sound for it. I'll be sending that to him shortly, and I'm sure he will get around to posting it before long. I better not send it util I at least get an ok from Jon, but it might be easier to wait. I have a pretty slow connection, and sending it out would tie up my phone for a long time, as the sound file's pretty big too.Steve

A great idea and one I can put to use.
A question, does the use of the Jp2 Billbpard tree1 preclude the use of this once replaced by the cows? I tend to use this tree line a lot and it would be a pity to loose it.
