This little guy started life as Dave Dandy's U30C. After some folding, spindling and mutilation its now a bit smaller. All it needs is a set of B-B trucks and textures.....Any guesses?GH

RE: Another project underway

John Peterson (Alabamarailfan) did a high hood U23B several years ago, and it still holds its own detailwise to todays freeware offerings. I still use his MILW 23B regularly.

RE: Another project underway

SCL had GE trucks (FB2?). MEC/GRS had Blombergs from the research and photos I have seen. If I get this one working, I'll attempt a GE truck version.GH

Only some of the ex SCL U18Bs had GE Floating Bolster phase 2 trucks.A large number rode on EMD trade in trucks that were modified by GE... ... one noticable change was that the outside brake hangers were cut off.-Jeffrey

The Milwaukee Road didn't have U18Bs, (they did have U23Bs which we kinda similar, and John Peterson dose have one for MSTS). Any U18B is welcome, because even if it is only initially released in MEC paint, Clayton Notgrass will repaint it into several preCSX SCL schemes (runs before Yellowdog finds out) -Jeffrey

Its Alive!

LAST EDITED ON Mar-05-05 AT 07:50 PM (EST)

I have some serious texturing work to do, but it works (more or less). The textures are just a mish-mash of textures to locate parts and troubleshoot so don't anyone get their shorts in a bunch. Here's a pic with the "family" and big brother U30C by Dave Dandy which was the starting point.THis has given me renewed respect for locomotive builders like NALW, Dick Cowen, Dave Dandy and many others. Until you get into it, you don't realize the time and effort it takes to line up textures, and get parts looking right.Gary
