i have a question in regaurds to track width in msts. i am making a few locomotives, and have the witdh between the centers of the wheels set to true standard gauge. are msts default/xtracks/ tracks the real dimensions between the railheads as well?also, what is the width of the railhead? i do not know for sure, and if anyone knows this as well, will help me make me wheel widths more accurate, as i took a guess from looking at prototype photos.thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with these questions, they'll help in aiding in my model's accuracy

RE: width of msts tracks vs real standard gauge track

I haven't made anything for the Sim in a while, but I recall that the track gauge was pretty accurate for the default rails. 1.435 Meters. I never checked the width of the Sim railhead, I just made my wheels to fit the prototype which I think is around 5" including the width of the flange. Prototype rail is about 3 inches wide at the top (not sure what that part of the rail is called, the head maybe?)

And I believe that is measured at 1/4" below the top edge of the rail - at least that's what I read somewhere.Bill Alder
